I really like this cookbook and think it's perfect for anyone who craves simple, delicious, and healthy food. One of my favorite activities is to pick up new cookbooks to add to my bookshelves. I especially search for useful tips and simple but scrumptious recipes I can use in my gluten-free kitchen. Most of my old cookbooks have had to be passed on as I have found that I am allergic to gluten and soy and my son is gluten-sensitive. I'm also a pescetarian aka a vegetarian who eats fish. BRAVO! Simply Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free fits the bill for us and will be a permanent addition to my kitchen. It contains an abundance of appetizing recipes that are all gluten-free and dairy-free. All the recipes appear to be simple to make with no intimidatingly long lists of ingredients. There are loads of scrumptious-appearing illustrations. The recipes also include symbols to alert the cook to other common allergens such as soy (Yay!), egg, nuts, etc. One especially valuable section covers tips on using ingredients that the cook may not be familiar with such as quinoa, sea vegetables, amaranth, coconut milk, kuzu, and more. I've eaten gluten free for about 3 years now and found this advice quite handy and plan to utilize these tips in my kitchen in the future! The recipes are broken down by Basic, Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinners, Baked Treats, and Desserts. Here's just a sample of some recipes that are included which I MUST try so you will have an idea of the diversity included in this book: Seafood Risotto that is done in 50 minutes, corn pancakes, French toast with pears, crayfish & asparagus pasta (hearty with Asia flavors), tuna, avocado and tomato salsa, eggplant spread, cannellini bean dip, apple cake, raspberry & rosewater cupcakes... Mmmmm! Is your mouth watering yet? Mine is! I really like this cookbook and think it's perfect for anyone who craves simple, delicious, and healthy food. 5 STARS!
