I am a college music student (non piano major) and I was looking for a book that would supplement my 1/2 hour a week piano lessons. I needed something that was more informative than just a rote exercize book, but not something that told me how to put my fingers on the keys for 12 pages. Simply Piano is not either of these extremes, nor does it fit comfortably in between. It is essentially a different kind of resource altogether than I was looking for. The book and CD set would be great for beginner piano students who are also beginner musicians. I know quite a few people outside of the realm of intense music studies that would like to teach themselves how to play piano. This is the type of person to whom I would recommend Simply Piano. The one thing that I was able to get use out of was the few excerpts in the back for sight reading practice.
