    Enjoyable & well organized

No, the instructors are not Asian, but they are awesome. The warm-up exercises are straight forward & easy. The form that you will learn is a modified yang short form T'ai Chi. Each movement is done 3 times and once you have learned several steps, they are combined into one fluid segment. This process is repeated until you have learned the entire routine.

My only complaint is that it would be easier if it was done with mirror image. There is little or no background on Chi or self-defense. Also,I am taking a class and I find that this the form is a bit different than what we are learning. But for $10 this is an excellent beginning T'ai Chi DVD.

I find that my balance has improved greatly!! Do it swiftly in the morning and my energy seem stronger. At night or when I am stressed I do it very slow and the tension just dissolves.

    I Also Recommend:

    Technical blah

I must admit, I'm spoiled as I am an avid users of David Dorian Ross, however in trying the Simple Tai Chi it was a bit blan. I will say that it is technical in nature and if you are new to this art form it will suffice in its methodology.

If you are not big on sensory and are more technical it will be a good model for you.

    Terrible. A waste of money.

I just bought this kit at my local Barnes & Noble. I am horrified because once you open, and use, a DVD, it can not be returned. They do not modify the routine by either facing away from you, or acting as your mirror. So when the voice on the DVD says to move your foot to the right, the demonstrators move their feet to your left. This is confusing and not at all helpful. I used to take Tai Chi and bought this as a refresher, and it STILL messed me up. Also, the introduction, before it even begins the warm up, is long and beyond dull. Don't waste your money.

    Tai Chi

first Dvd didn't work. Returned it. 2nd one worked but it was hard to follow. They should have turned their backs to the camera more. Not sure how much I will use this.

the title of the steps blocked the the moves

The book and dvd were ok. This is something you would check out at the public library just to see what it was like. Not something you would want to add to your collection

    Interesting

Simply Tai Chi is a good way to introduce someone to Tai Chi before they actually start taking classes with an instructor.

It's helpful to have both a book and a DVD.

A friend recommended Tai Chi since I like Qi Gong, so I bought this beginner kit. I like that it came with both a book and a DVD, but this presentation didn't light a spark in me for Tai Chi even though I still think I would enjoy it.
