    D'OH!! What the heck happened?

When this book came out, I didn't think that the Simpsons Complete Guide series could get any worse after 'The Simpsons Forever' in 1999. Boy, was I wrong. This book completely destroys everything that the first book established. A casual reader picking up this book would never guess it's from the same series as 'The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family'. Just like last time, the editors tried to stretch the book as far as it could go - this time by giving every episode a double page layout (the annual Halloween episodes have four pages). While most fans consider this a blessing, the layout is even worse than last time, as too many episodes have only one or two framegrabs and the amount of exchanges outweighs the single quotes. And it seems a travesty to issue an all double page format to a book profiling Seasons 11 and 12 - undoubtedly the WORST seasons of 'The Simpsons', with Mike Scully's surrealism in full swing. Episodes like 'Saddlesore Galactica', 'Kill the Alligator and Run', 'New Kids on the Blecch', and 'Simpson Safari' don't deserve this much credit. In all, a totally unacceptable book, and an insult to the first one in the series. For shame, Jesse L. McCann. For shame.
