Editorial Reviews

New York Times - Stephen Holden
These five discs...chronicle live performances by Frank Sinatra over 35 years, from the twilight of his days as a smooth balladeer to his ascendancy as an imperial, combative philosopher of swing.... The DVD reveals Sinatra at his most theatrically expansive, emoting on a grand scale.... Even when the voice was hoarse and clotted, the lyrics were punched out with a heavyweight authority.
Chicago Tribune - Howard Reich
"Sinatra: New York" can only deepen one's appreciation for his inextinguishable art.
In Entertainment (U.K.) - Peter Holness
Sinatra fans -- you will not be disappointed.... This boxset has everything you will need for hours of listening pleasure, and electrifying performances.

The DVD with Sinatra's rendition of You and Me is worth the cost of the whole boxed set. This song is the best, but ironically, not on the CDs. We watch the DVD and play the CDs again and again. Wonderful tribute to him and NYC!

My mom kept watching the Sinatra clips on PBS during the holidays. I believe they were only selling the DVDs of his performance, however, I was able to find the DVDs and CDs...she was like a kid in a candy store. It brought back all the memories from when she was a kid and my grandparents would listen to Sinatra. She's more than pleased with the DVD set.

Sounds great especially CDS 2-4. More commentary on the 1st CD. Very clear sounds like you really are there. If Frank Sinatra in Vegas sounds even close to this it is also worth every penny. The packaging is nice with a large booklet. It would have been nice if they used jewel cases instead of the paper holders but don't be fooled the sound quality is great. Frank Sinatra Nothing But the Best is also an awesome CD if you are not looking for something live.
