5 out of 5. A very well done compilation. It has all of Sinatra`s best songs in a magnificent package. If you are fond of Sinatra you simply can`t miss it. If you are not, buy it for your Dad!

Sinatra is one of those few people who sounds great live. That's becuase his voice is just so incredible. These concerts are very entertaining. The sound quality is also very good. Sinatra at the Sands in 1966 is still my favorite.

I own every collection of Sinatra and this has become my immediate favorite. I was never able to see Sinatra live, but have found the next best thing. This set is a perfect compliment to all your studio box sets.

Finally, someone was listening to Sinatra people's pleas! This set completes what has been out for years and shows the great Francis Albert sinatra at his best: Live and In Person! The Sands Concert (F2S-1019) was a drop in the bucket,[also was a different night as the 2nd disc in the set proves] but this one set eclipses that CD and allows us to experience Sinatra at all stages of his career. For years, the first disc has been available as a bootleg (recorded from the soundboard) but with this set, we hear 1961 as it truly was we also hear the Nugget and Ceaser's so we know that The Sands didn't have the exclusive on FS and his music.My advice to any Sinatra addict who wants more LIVE in his collection? Get it while it can be got. The DVD by the way really allows you to see FS in action as well.Now then, bring on Live Dino Martino! [Dean Martin!}

Four audio performances and a concert taped for television that capture Frank Sinatra at different stages of his career and, for each period, capture him in top form. Disc One, a 1961 performance in the Sands Hotel Copa Room, is particularly interesting as there is precious little live performance available from so long ago. Yes, there have been airchecks from this period. But Sinatra attains a unique intimacy in his club appearances. Listeners are very much “in the room.” Add the fact that this is a Sinatra in his mid to late forties and at the zenith of his considerable vocal ability. This 1961 concert's amazing! Frank's firing on all cylinders doing whatever he wants and having the pipes to go for it. Indeed, THIS is a performance that, for age-old fans and newcomers alike, answers the question, “What was all the fuss about?” THIS is the Sinatra that made Las Vegas. Disc Two, captures yet another 1966 collaboration with Count Basie and his Orchestra. In the sixties, Frank released the landmark LP, “SINATRA AT THE SANDS." It remains a magnificent example of two giants of American Popular Song, at the peak of their respective powers. An exciting concert, a tight, crackling band and an electrifying soloist in Sinatra. “SINATRA AT THE SANDS” remains one of the all-time great LIVE recordings. Disc Two of this collection provides us the luxury of attending yet another performance by this duo. It is no less satisfying than the performance we’ve known and loved for forty years. As with the original LP, a very young Quincy Jones arranges many of the titles heard in the engagement. Disc Three, Sinatra at Caesars Palace in 1982. This is a mature Sinatra by contrast to Disc One and Disc Two. He is comfortable with his musical catalog and the showroom, Caesars' Circus Maximus. Dino surprises Frank and the crowd with a quick walk-on and daughter, Nancy, contributes to a sweet moment, dueting with her father on their huge hit from the sixties, “Something Stupid.” Once again, the listener to this disc is drawn into the room. Whether displaying irreverence and chutzpah befitting the most powerful man in America, or sounding like the last lonely "loser" in the universe, Frank Sinatra was the most compelling singer of the 20th century. This set, drawn from live Las Vegas performances (1961-1987), captures like no other the extremes that were so essential to his art. The song selection is excellent (with none of the soft- rock and quasi-disco clinkers from his short-lived attempt to keep up with dubious 1970s trends), as is the general audio quality. The elegant packaging further elevates the project. An outstanding DVD of a 1978 show at Caesars Palace is a real surprise, astonishing proof of how well Sinatra regained his vocal powers following his brief 1971 "retirement". As with other Sinatra shows that have made it to CD or DVD, mention must be made of his occasional non-PC wisecracks. As one who was very much alive and well during the 1960s and 70s, a world where Polish and Jewish and Black jokes were part and parcel of the culture, Frank's asides - especially during the 60s! - were actually considered edgy displays of ethnic and religious tolerance. (And Sinatra's long record of standing up for minorities continues to speak for itself.) As a live document of Frank Sinatra performing in smaller, more intimate settings (as opposed to the more formal presentations he gave in concert halls), the sheer volume and scope of this previously unreleased material makes "Sinatra: Vegas" a must-have set, equalled only by the landmark 1966 "Sinatra at the Sands" with Count Basie and the Capitol/Blue Note "Australia 1959" set with Red Norvo.

Like 2002's Sinatra in Hollywood, the collection focuses on one facet of Ol' Blue Eyes' career: his Vegas shows. Five concerts ranging in date from 1961 to '87 and held in different Vegas venues fill four CDs and one DVD: at the Sands in '61 and '66; Caesar's Palace in '78 and '82; and the Golden Nugget in '87.
