All Music Guide - Scott Yanow
Dottie Dodgion, who is best known as a swinging drummer, occasionally takes personable vocals. On her first full-length recording as purely a singer, Dodgion sounds fine on a variety of standards, including "Dancing in the Dark," "He's Funny That Way," "Easy Living," and "The Man I Love." She is assisted by a sympathetic quintet that includes flügelhornist Jackie Coon and pianist Johnny Varro for a lightly swinging set of fine tunes.
