"H.P. Mallory has a quick wit, a fresh voice, and a clever way with words. If you like Charlaine Harris, you'll love H.P. Mallory!" ~ Larissa Ione, New York Times Bestselling Fantasy Romance Author

SINJIN is the first book in the Bryn and Sinjin series:

Abandoned on the battlefield by the people she calls her tribe, Bryn must face the fact that she is now playing prisoner to the Queen of the Underworld, who also happens to be her fraternal twin sister. As the days and months go by with no word from the Supreme Elder of her tribe, Bryn thinks her life couldn't get much worse.

While Bryn bemoans her imprisonment, her sister, Jolie, is doing everything in her power to ensure that blood ties are thicker than they appear. Jolie wants nothing more than to befriend Bryn and teach her not to hate the Underworld, but to embrace it.

But Bryn fights the very idea of becoming one with her enemies, although she can't help her attraction to a certain six-hundred-year-old English vampire, Sinjin Sinclair. Once Bryn is placed in Sinjin's care, she'll find herself battling the undeniable magnetism of the vampire, the one creature she abhors above all others.

Sinjin's quick wit, his indisputable sex appeal, and the mystery that surrounds him all point to the fact that if Bryn falls for him, she'll be in over her head. But, as a warrior through and through, Bryn isn't the type to fall for anything, especially a handsome face. If anyone should be able to withstand the lure of the vampire, Bryn appears to be the likeliest candidate.

Of course, looks can be deceiving...

Meet the Author

I started my writing career as a self-published author and was lucky enough to hit both the Amazon and the Barnes and Noble bestsellers lists with my two series, the Jolie Wilkins series and the Dulcie ONeil series. After hitting both lists, I thought life couldnt really get much better so you can imagine my surprise when Random House (Bantam imprint) signed me to write three books in the Jolie Wilkins series (Witchful Thinking, The Witch is Back and Something Witchy This Way Comes). Now I love the fact that Im both a traditionally published author as well as a self-published one (with my Dulcie ONeil series). And even more cool news? The books in both series are currently being made into audio books! Stay tuned for more informationWhen people ask me what Im like, its sort of hard to answer but here goes Im a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention. My interests are varied but aside from writing, Im most excited about traveling. Uncovering new places and learning about different cultures is pretty incredible. I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to live abroad in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Title Deceiving and Lack of Surprise Cliffhanger.  Too Short I am rather disappointed in this anxiously awaited new "Sinjin" series.  I found the title to be deceiving as the story is not about Sinjin; it is about Bryn.  I was hoping to read this book from Sinjin's point of view, but it was from Bryn's.  There was more dialogue between Bryn and Jolie (and everyone else) than there was with Sinjin.  Also, the surprise cliffhanger wasn't such a surprise as it was expected by what I thought was halfway through the book; the last approximately 40 pages were of other series, which left the book at about 140+ pages.  I am giving this book 2 stars because I love Sinjin Sinclair; however, he was not the leading (or even 2nd leading) role.  His role was about tied with Odran's, as the leading roles were Bryn and Jolie, respectively.

I waited forever for this story. His story. I feel robbed. Cheated. He is a 600 year old vampire. Where is his back story. Tell me a bit about him. The book is called Sin jin right? I don't care about the now with the twins. That is all gonna play out. But this was suppose to be his story not a continuation of where we were.

I love all the characters in this series. I thought by the title that the book would be in his point of view. It isn't. And he barely played a part in the story at all. The book ended in the middle of a scene and was too short. Did H.P. run out of time before she had to publish? Good but disappointing at the same time.

Conflicted While I have come to love the writing style and the characters from the Jolie Wilkins series, I was disappointed in the author in regards to this book. As others have said, do not be fooled by the title. The book is centered more on Bryn than Sinjin. I was so looking forward to hearing more of his story.

Yet another'cliffhanger' instead of writing a complete book. The writing style is pretty good, but this trend to have to buy a series of books to get a complete story frustrated me

This book is a good one and it's the first book in this series. But also being a part of another series from the ending of the last book it starts with this book. I mean it starts off right where the other one stopped. This book was really good and even more so then the other ones. Though I actually still like Jolie's husband then Sinjin but the guy pictured on this book cover is pretty hot. I am pretty happy with this book. I couldn't put it down at all and when I put it down finally it was at the ending of the book. I thought that this book went by pretty fast much like the other books. I got to admit though that I was pretty much hating myself when I was done with it. I didn't want it to end and when it did I was pretty much sad since I so wanted to read the next one but there wasn't any books at all. I love this world that H.P. Mallory created since this is a pretty good world that I so want to be a part of. I will highly recommend this book to anyone. *Spoiler Alert* I would have given this book a 5 star rating, if it didn't have a stupid cliffhanger ending.....I guess I will never know what happens with these characters, as I refuse to be forced to purchase series. I do purchase the ones I enjoy reading and that have resolutions, but a promise of more to come..... I know cliffhangers are all the rage with authors; but I despise them and refuse to purchase any books with cliffhangers.

It may have been better if it had really been about Sinjin.  It was supposed to tell relate his story but it turned out to be a short filler story. What could have been related in a few pages was stretched out to be a short book.

Really only 143 Nook pages, not 185. After page 143 it's all samples of her other books. Too short, like it was forced out. I wanted a story about Sinjin, but not rushed just to get it out. Should have been more thought out, longer. And what about the reference to people over forty moving so slow? Forty is not seventy! Sorry I was disappointed.

I was so sad when the Jolie series ended. I'd become very attached to Jolie and I hate it when authors leave a story line and I feel like there was no closure. The way HP Mallory works Jolie and Rand into this series is perfect. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
