Overview

Drowning Pool's debut album, Sinner, is a surprise. Sure, the four guys who compose the band are displayed on the back cover like they were tailor-made for the rap-core scene which had arisen out of the late '90s, but musically they're a little better than the rest. Singer Dave Williams has really impressive vocals, which unlike many of their comrades actually shows diversity and a refreshing breadth. Multiple variations of melodic singing to multiple ranges of screaming that is unlike little of what comes out from the Ozzfest crowd. Musically, Drowning Pool are a cross between Korn and Tool, but much more akin to Tool, primarily in reference to the vocals. Everything else on the album is smooth and perfect, like a plan having gone off according to plan. The riffs on Sinner are huge, with enormous grooves and great dance parts. In fact, the track "Bodies" was written inherently to be a song to get people to dance with its line of "something's got to give/let the bodies hit the floor." While Drowning Pool may not be the next musical Beethoven, they are a welcome breath of fresh air in the midst of all the so-called "hardcore" that is on the airwaves today. A strong starting piece, Sinner shows Drowning Pool's great potential.

I have the Sinner CD and its pretty freakin good. My favorite song is Sinner, but alot of the other songs are very good. Bodies is the national anthem for moshing! Everyone should try to see them live too! THEY ROCK!

this band is going to be and is already one of the greats out there. Their music rules over all except for a few out there. These guys are great to when you meet them. They are the coolest and down to earth band out there.

These guys are from Dallas, TX. They're great, the song Tear Away was there first single, and it had heavy rotation at KEGL, 97.1 the Eagle. This is one of the best CDs I¿ve heard in awhile.

This is one of the best CD's I have come across this year. Every song on the Sinner CD is good, and that is a rarity. Bodies is my favorite, but believe me, they are all good. I am so glad that true rock-n-roll is back. If you like rock you will love this CD.

This record has some of the best songs i have ever heard, daves vocals are amazing and they still keep it orginal. These guy's really could have gone to the top of good hard rock. I will really miss dave williams as he was one of nicest guys in the biz.

These guys ROCK! The Screaming techniques of Dave Williams are AWSOME! My fave would have to be either "Told You So" or "Reminded" A impressive album all and all. I like them even more than Disturbed. I still don't know how he screams like that!

This album is outstanding from start to finish. Incredible bone-breaking songs such as "Bodies" and "Reminded" put this a cut above the rest. Dave Williams, the lead singer for Drowning Pool, will be sorely missed.
