Meet the Author

Detroit native, Sylvia Hubbard, a single mother of three, has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage emerging writers in Michigan. She independently published her first romance novel in 2000 and has continued to write in that genre, sometimes venturing into other sub-genres. Always urban and contemporary styled, her writing is enjoyed all over the world. She has published 4 paperbacks and over 10 e-books.

The same year she published, Ms Hubbard also created Motown Writers Network to fill the lack of education and networking for Michigan authors online and offline. By 2004, she was frustrated that all the literary conferences had moved too far away from the city and co-created The Essence of Motown Literary Jam Conference held only in the City of Detroit annually.

In addition to romance writing, Hubbard has been featured at various conferences and workshops all over the United States and Canada, where she has taught authors how to sell their books on the Internet. She also published Internet Marketing for Writers & Businesses as a resource for those unable to attend her workshops. In the upcoming year, she will be featured in several anthologies and plans to publish additional e-books.

Has a lot of potential but....

This story could definitely have benefitted from a good copyeditor and proofreader. Along with spelling and grammar errors, there were errors with characters names being changed or switched, story jumps and inconsistent character development. However, there were elements of the plot that were really good. The main hero/heroine were very likeable and their attraction and relationship were believable. But there were also elements of the storyline that needed to be reigned in -- some twists were just too, too over the top. If the storyline were cleaned up through good editing, this could be a very, very good book. Overall, I would still recommend this book because of its 'glimmers of greatness'.

A lot of sickness in this book

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT Obviously the people who raved about this book were either planted by the author or into borderline depravity. From acceptable molestation to a Wood Allen-I'm-in-love-with-my-wife's-daughter type scenario this book was more a handbook on how to forgive morally unexceptable behavior than anything to do with romance.

The main characters (Dwight and Sinclair) were not all that likeable with Dwight coming off as more of a father-figure and Sinclair a doormat. Whatever world this author lives in or finds exciting - which seems to be the seedy underbelly of society - is not one I will be visiting again with the author anytime soon.

She tried to throw in honest working jobs but for me I just couldnt get passed the glossed over way a man could molest a 14 year old because he could no longer control himself manner in which this author wrote. It came across as if it were ok! Or when Dwight broke into Sinclair's apartment and was caught by another renter yet the renter allowed Dwight another 10 minutes to snoop AND NEVER TOLD SINCLAIR! Then when she did find out she was like, "Well, that is ok! I am sure Dwight had a good reason." REALLY!!!

If you are into this kind of lifestyle, buy it; me, I like a bit more morality in my romance.

    Great Story!!!!!

Yes this book did have a few typos, however it did not distract from the whole tale. This book kept me very engrossed in the story from beginning to end. I have paid twice as much for books that were not even half this good!!!! I am very happy to to find a book with all the right elements...mystery/suspense/ drama and most important romance! Will be reading more from this author

    Amazing

This is a must read, it was more than worth the money i've bought books for $4 to $5 with only 64pg and i was so angry i read the archive because its so bad. This book was less than that and was well thought out. I could't put it down with all the twist and turns, all i have to say is amazing. Buy buy buy and enjoy you will not be disappointed.

    Enjoyabe read

This story was a good read. It was quite lengthy but you got to know the characters. It was a nice change to see the main characters not jump right in the bed. I liked Sinclair she was naive, innocent and cute. Sinclair also wasn't your typical heroine, tall, hazel eyes, hair down her back and a size 6. This story has a lot of twist and turns but it kept my attention. I would have given it 5 stars but it had WAY TOO MANY grammatical errors, other than that I do recommend the book.
