Editorial Reviews

Booklist
“[Benson’s] themes will resound with many readers and her portrayal of a newly reformed, albeit occasionally backsliding, sinner is masterful.”
Victoria Christopher Murray
“A wonderful twist on a story that’s as old as the ages—conflict and competition between siblings—with scandal and suspense added to the mix. An entertaining, enjoyable novel that deserves to be on every bestseller’s list.”

This was a wonderful story to me. The characters reminds you of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar in the Bible as far as their children birth rights. Angela did a great job with all the characters. The plot was excellent. I believe this is a good book club read.

Shows how we should let go of the past and take a change on those who have hurt us in our past.

Few typo errors, but overall pretty good...

People shouldn't give an author and the novel only one star just because they are mad at the reviewers. If you didn't read the book don't rate it. This only hurts the author and the book. It does nothing to the reviewer.

Stop reading the detailed reviews. When you post a negative comment & give the author a low rating, it harms the books image. I'm not saying that I agree with people that posts spoilers; however, you're no better for what you do. I purposely do not read those excessively long reviews before I purchase & read a book because I know that they have spoilers. Why not consider doing that.

I just started reading this book, and am already on chapter 17. I just can't put it down. It's such a great book. It's really well written.

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were complex are realistic. No one was perfect and I enjoyed that. Great story about family dynamics, forgiveness and letting go of the past.

5 stars to offset the idiots who gave it one star because they don't like someone's REVIEW of the book. C'mon people! Giving a bad rating to the BOOK because you didn't like a REVIEW is sooooooo unfair to the author!!

Great Read!!! I don't read a review that is more than a sentence or two because if it is longer than we all know it is plot spoilers and I don't want to know til I read the book myself

This book was just OK. The characters lacked tone. The author sounded very smart and well mannered, but appeared to be lacking in the social experience needed to bring a character to life. It was a tedious read....

Good writing. Interesting plot twists. Like the realistic characters but what happened to the ending? The story was left hanging. Quite unsatisfying

The story just stopped mid stream. I really loved it till I realized it wasn't complete.

It is a Page Turner! This was the first book I've read by Ms. Benson & I was totally impressed. Her writing style is something else! I couldn't put the book down till I finished it. Her characters were so realistic & the dynamics were sensational. I found the storyline to be realistic but very inspirational. My hat is off to Angela Benson she did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this book.

If you like soap operas, this book is for you. This was a free Friday book for Nook at Barnes and Noble.

This really was a great book. But, I must say that plot spoilers are a grave offenslce to a book lover. I dont read reviews. BnN lets anyone post anything, Amazon reviewers go on angry tirades. Like everything else, its hit or miss, so try it for yourself. And if someone spoiles the plot, flag the reviews.

Please don't give bad reviews due to spoilers. Judge the book fairly. It was well written, intricate, interesting and had an excellent plot. I commend the author for her incredible work.

As a rule of thumb, I do not read reviews if there is more than a few sentences. 3 or more paragraphs is a dead give away.. Thank you B & N for this freeby!

Loved the way it brought our biblical characters and principles.

I was delighted to find a book w/o being trashy & vulgar, I can only handle so much of that

If you want a easy, safe, predictable read, then this book is for you. The writing was very amaturish and the plot mundane. Only good thing about this book was that you didn't have to think.
