While I did enjoy this book featuring the Mississippi Dark-Hunters, I have a better connection with the New Orleans Dark-Hunters. Lexion and Danger are perfect for each other. As usual, I enjoyed their bantering. What I absolutely loved in this book were the small hints about Acheron. Without giving away anything, I'll just say the more I learn about Acheron, the more I want to know about him. And, that includes learning more about Simi as well. I dare you to read this series and not love Acheron!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. At night the innocent coed left the library when the Daimons attacked her, but just when she appeared to be their feast, a Dark-Hunter appeared. However, instead of saving the human as their code demands, he feasts on her blood leaving her soul to the Daimons. --- The Alexion, hunter of rogue Dark Hunters, knows he must deal with his friend Marco¿s breaking the code of not harming humans. Though he knows he needs to put Marco to death, the Alexion hopes to save the ¿soul¿ of his pal. However, he finds himself distracted by that rarest of Dark Hunters, a huntress Dangereuse ¿Danger¿ St. Richard, who tried to kill him as she knows he is the executioner of her kind. In spite of their auspicious first encounter, The Alexion and Danger fall in love, but duty calls, which means killing more than just his friend; he must kill the Dark Huntress he loves as she is controlled by one of the nastier Goddesses. --- This is a super entry in one of the best romantic fantasy series on the market today. The story line is action-packed but Alexion¿s dilemma of choosing between his beloved and his duty make for quite a tale as fans will wonder which way he will go. Either way he knows his ¿resurrected¿ heart beating with love will turn to ashes. Sherrilyn Kenyon provides a fabulous thriller with a strong cast supporting two star-crossed lovers whose relationship seems tragically doomed from the start.--- Harriet Klausner

Everything written by Sherrilyn Kenyon is worth reading, and this one was no exception. I was hooked from the first chapter. Looking forward to reading about more of Kenyon's Dark-Hunters, Dream-Hunters, and Were-Hunters. :)

After the epilogue, there was a preview: The Beginning. Does this tie in to one of the books in the series (like Acheron? Thanks

I LOVE all of her dark hunter novels and this one is no disappointment. I love how she portrays the battles of the everyday right and wrong ;-).

She is a new author to me and I have a long way to catch up to most. Was not let down Sherrilyn is very good at drawing you into her world by making you love her characters. If you have not read these and are into knowing what goes bump in the night while we go on with our merry little lives. This is a must read series.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This book is a fun and playful, sexy and smart, yet it has a much gentler tone to it then the other books. A good read definately as well as a great addition to the series - about the 1st dark hunter who was to get is soul back and what happened to him. It also gives you more insight about Acheron and the integral role he is in this series.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This installment was about Dangereuse a dark hunter from the French Revolution and Alexion one of the first dark-hunters ever made and Ash's judge, jury and executioner for the other dark hunters. I really enjoyed reading this one not only was the main story about them two really good but we learned a lot more about Ash. Who has been a big mystery with only little sin bits of precious info on him in the last books. I think Danger is a great character and I could really put myself in her shoes, cause hey who here hasn't been burned by her man? I thought Alexion was great too cause he's so upfront and honest plus loyal as all heck. This want my favorite but defiantly a must read in the series.

I'm not sure why but I remember I used to dislike Alexion and Danger's story. But this time around, I enjoyed it immensely. And wonder of wonders its not because of old favorites reappearing. Acheron and Simi do put in an appearance and I loved meeting them again but Sins of the Night would have been fine without them. They just made it a little better.
I liked that Alexion and Danger are both not only strong characters who respect each other but share a sense of humor which allows them to make fun of each other. Both of them understand what it is to be betrayed by the one they loved, yet have the courage to share themselves again despite their fears. They both wanted to fight for what they had. Still when they realized the futility of it, they both did their best enjoy what time they had left together and to make it easier on each other after their parting. This behaviour, as opposed to Artemis's, is what shows that they genuinely care for each other.
The only negative I see is that readers who are not familiar with the Dark-Hunter world will be left a little lost. There will already be enough questions unanswered without having to puzzle over references to characters from previous books.
Read this only if you'd consider investing your time and money on the books in the series.
I started the Dark Hunter series on "Acheron", (incidentally the 14th or 15th book in the series) and was immediately hooked by its interesting characters, incredible story and witty humor. Sins of the Night doesn't disappoint at all.

He is ready to take out a few of the Dark-Hunters who have turned their backs on him and have began killing people. It is their job to protect the humans from the very things they have decided to side with.
Stryker has woven his way into the hearts and minds of a few Dark-Hunters. He has a plan to tell them the "truth" about Ash, that he is the very thing they have been sent to fight against. And he has even been able to convince one of the oldest Dark-Hunters of this.
Danger had been invited to Kyros' house to hear a "revelation" about Ash. What she heard didn't make her any more at ease than she had been to begin with. Ash was a Daimon? How absurd! At least that was what she thought until she walked into her house and found the Alexion in her living room. Could it be true? Was Stryker right? Did Ash want to see them dead for knowing the truth of him?
I always love Sherrilyn Kenyon's books and this is no exception! I love that we see more into Ash's life. Makes me want to read "Acheron" but that book is like #16 or something. I give it a 5 out of 5!!!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. At this point as readers of the Dark-Hunter series we know the game of these books. Hunky man falls in love with average modern day woman, saves the world, and gets his soul back. Well not this time. Kenyon's Sins of The Night book is an unusual Dark-Hunter read. In fact, it reads more like a question and answer book for all the Dark-Hunter fans out there. Sure there is a love story in it with Alexion the mysterious "other" who's the Dark-Hunters judge, jury, and executioner, and Danger a female Dark-Hunter. Sure there are Daimons trying to hurt Acheron and take over the world. So what! What is most important is the background information we learn on Demons, Shades, and Ash. The best part of this book is we get to see more Simi. This book was meant to be read as part of the series and not as an individual book. There are simply to many background aspects regarding Acheron and previous story lines to give a first time reader a satisfying story. Some fans will find it to be a hard read and boring due to its change of style, but others will enjoy having long standing questions answered. A must read of the series, rather you enjoy this book or not.

Overview
In the realm of the Dark-Hunters there is a code of honor that even immortal bad boys must follow:
Harm no human. Drink no blood. Never fall in love.
But every now and again a Dark-Hunter thinks himself above the Code. That's when I'm summoned. Who am I? I'm the one thing the fearless fear. Step over the line and it's my wrath you will face. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can sway me. I am relentless and unfeeling.
Or so I thought until I met a female Dark-Hunter who goes by the...
