SIR FARTSALOT HUNTS THE BOOGER. I've admitted before that I'm a sucker for a catchy title, and really, can a title get more catchy than that?!

Young Prince Harry of Armpit (get it?) has finally worked his father's last nerve. Now, he's been ordered to accompany a noble knight named Sir Fartsalot on a quest to find the source of the Foul West Wind, which mysteriously and frequently emits omens not long after Sir Fartsalot has finished a meal of turnips.

Since he must tag along, the prankster, Prince Harry, successfully convinces Sir Fartsalot he must track the latest and greatest threat to the Kingdom of Armpit -- the evil Booger.

Yes, I know, groans all around. But, just wait, there is a saving grace. The writing. Debut novelist Kevin Bolger plays with words the way his fabulous main character plays pranks -- brilliantly!

Bolger convinces the reader to turn just one more page. To find out what happens in the castle full of maiden princesses on the prowl, what happens in the Enchanted Forest, and how Harry of Armpit will get himself out of the mess he's created.

Every pun has a meaning and every meaning has a purpose in this fantastic chapter book that's fun for all ages.

I have two boys, ages 2 and 7, and they loved this book. My seven-year-old enjoyed the fact that he could read the book by himself and has re-read the book since we finished it together. There is a lot of adventure and silly happenings that it will keep children entertained and wanting more. My sons and I will be looking for more by this author and hope there will be more Sir Fartsalot stories. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This is a wonderful chapter book for boys. They will love the off-color humor and the illustrations. This is a wonderful chapter book for boys. They will love the off-color humor and the illustrations. (Though I am a girl and loved it too.) Prince Harry loves to joke and wants to learn magic. The King wants his son to be a great knight, a career choice Prince Harry does not want to learn.
The King sends Prince Harry of Armpit on a adventure with the great knight Sir Fartsalot. They are looking for "The Booger," a great enemy of the kingdom that must be conquered. Along the way they have several mini-adventures that will have the kids laughing and rolling their eyes - and turning the pages.
I won't ruin the fun with spoilers. Suffice it to say that this is a fun read, a fast read, and a read every boy from 8 to 80 will find funny. (And girls too.)

I take my son to B&N all the time to get him a new book. The book is actually too advanced for him but he saw the cover and had to have it. The title is gross and so are the names of characters in the book.
It is funny and my son loves to read it with me every night before bed. He is taking a section at a time.
If your child is "all boy" and is rather silly, and needs to read more. This book is for you!

This book is great to get boys who are not readers to read. The vocabulary is challenging for young children. They will learn many new words while enjoying the story. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

This book was given to an 11 year old boy. It was read by the 11 year old & his 41 year old mom. They both found the book to be very humorous & funny. They would recommend it to anyone who like to laugh. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I have not had the time to read it but I hear my son laughing as he reads it. As long as it keeps him reading I am happy. It is hard to find him something to read due to his picky nature. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
