Overview

Deborah Peltz, a soap opera writer in New York, has never gotten along with her sister Sharon, a wedding planner in Boca Raton. Just about anything can touch off an estrangement, and bickering comes so naturally to them that they don’t even remember what they’re arguing about.

But when their mother has a heart attack in Stuart, Florida, the sisters come together and promise to bury the hatchet for Mom’s sake – until they both fall for her cardiologist. When the handsome doctor is found dead in his waterfront home with both sisters squabbling over his body, they become the prime suspects and go from enemies to alibis.

Deborah hopes her experience plotting storylines for her soap opera will help them police find the real killer, but a second murder brings the siblings even closer to danger.

Now, joining forces in the Bahamas may be their one chance to stay alive. And in the process, they just might learn to love and accept (or at least tolerate) each other, not to mention find men of their own to love.

“If you ever wanted to kill your sister, this is the novel for you… Delightful.” – People

“Hilarious.” – Woman’s Own

Editorial Reviews

(Iris Rainer Dart) - Iris Rainer Dart
"If Susan lsaacs had a hot fling with Tom Robbins, their offspring would be Jane Heller! ... Three cheers for her latest novel, Sis Boom Bah, a laugh-out-loud tale of two sisters who go from enemies to alibis. Once again, Heller has combined comedy, mystery, and romance for a rousing good time."
Julie Garwood
"Brimming with fast-paced suspense, rollicking wit, and loads of charm, Sis Boom Bah is great fun -- and a must-read for sisters everywhere."
Heather Graham
"For anyone who ever spent any time in a love/hate relationship with a sibling, it's a must. I loved it -- it's funny and fast, an absolutely wonderful, entrancing, and thoroughly entertaining novel. Congratulations to Jane Heller for such an imaginative, top-rate story. Love her characters!"
The Palm Beach Post (June 4, 1999) - Marilyn Murray Wilson
If however, you enjoy fiction that has a bit of mystery, a touch of sarcasm, a likable heroine, and a good dose of romance, then there's reason to celebrate.
Heller has placed her sixth novel in Sewall's Point, an upscale Treasure Coast neighborhood. The book is subtitled Having a Sister Means Always Having To Say You're Sorry, and the novel effectively explores the conflicts that can exist between sisters.
People Magazine (June 14, 1999) - Amy Waldman
If you've ever wanted to kill your sister, this is the novel for you. At 43 and 45, Deborah and Sharon Peltz ought to have outgrown petty bickering. But for the thrice-divorced Sharon, a wedding planner, and her never-married younger sister, a TV soap opera writer having a midlife crisis, contempt would represent a step forward in their relationship.....Heller, a South Florida author with a breezy, lighthearted touch and ironic sense of humor, has concocted another delightful summer read.

Death Twins Of The Fire Arena, part five

Next part at result six.---- We all were dismissed to our cabins. I went into the Hades cabin. I threw myself on the bed. Tears welled in my eyes. Nico walked in and sighed. I guess he was used to bad news. A warm hand reached for my shoulder as I sat up. Nico put his arm around me. We sat in the same position and I went to the Poseidon cabin. Percy sat on the bed staring at the ceiling. "Percy." I mumbled. My eyes were puffy from crying. He looke up and walked over to me." Hey." He murmured under his breath.----NEXT PART AT RESULT SIX!!-DTOTFA

    Cute, fun mystery!!

I don't have a sister, but I was quickly drawn into the world of the Peltz sisters. This mystery is fun, believable, and as usual for Jane Heller's books, will have you laughing out loud from the first page to the last.

Adorable! Even if you dont have sister, this is a FUN book!

This book made me realize that maybe my own sister and I are somewhat normal in our arguing. It's humorous, fun, and suspenseful and might actually have you thinking about your own words and actions when bickering with siblings. Quick read, as well. Great for the beach.

    The Ultimate Beach Book

This light, funny book is predictible but totally enjoyable. It takes about five hours to get through it. Just enough time for a nice sunburn.
