    Fantastic Book

The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants is a book about 4 friends who are facing their first summer apart. They have very diverse personalities. Tibby is a rebel, but under that appearance she is actually a sweetheart. She is a very 'glass is half empty' sort of person. Bridget(who they call 'Bee')is a superstar. She can run less than 4 minutes a mile without really trying. She takes a lot of risks, social and physical. She's the best soccer player ever. But she's not as bold and brave as she appears to be. Well, she is brave, but she's very vulnerable and tender. Her mother committed suicide a few years before, and she is still trying to figure out why. Lena is shy. She is also beautiful beyond beautiful, with jade eyes, dark lucious hair, and in Carmen's words'a face so lovely, so delicately structured, it almost gives me a stomachache'. She doesn't like that she's pretty, but at the same time she does. She is a wonderful artist. Carmen could be described as a firecracker. She's saucy and has a bad temper that sometimes gets her into trouble, but she's very caring with her friends and while she makes great mistakes, she also makes great comebacks. Tibby is staying at home, which gets her pretty POed that she has to stay with her bratty little siblings while her friends go to adventures. Lena goes to a beautiful Greek Island to visit her grandparents with her little sister, Effie, who is 14. Effie is the exact opposite as Lena as far as personalities go. She is as exuberant and social as Lena is withdrawn and shy. Bee goes to a soccer camp in Baja, California. Carmen goes to South Carolina to visit her Dad. Carmen discovers jeans, and when her friends try them on, they all fit and make them all have a sort of glow. This is very odd because their body types are as different as their personalities, so they come to the conclusion that they are magic pants and share them over the summer by mail. Bridget falls in love with Eric Richman, someone who is 4 years older than her(she's 15). She goes to far with him, and ends up regretting it. Lena dislike Kostos,a good-looking Greek boy who her grandmother loves and wants her to fall in love with(THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT THAN THE MOVIE. But she learns more about him that she ever would have imagined.Tibby meets a girl named Bailey that teaches her about life. Carmen learns about love, life, family, the works. I would reccomend this to teenage girls.
