I tend to be picky when it comes to teen/young adult novels, especially when those books involve the classic good-vs-evil plot. Usually the moment a love interest comes into the picture, that sub-plot overshadows the overall work. Not so much in this case. While love interests ARE a major part of the story, Lynne doesn't dedicate entire blocks of chapters to the leading ladies gushing about their love problems over ice cream or booze. The addition of the love interest here provides a good moral dilemma and snag to the heroines' decision making. I'm currently in the second book of the trilogy within this volume, and I can say I am still enjoying the experience as it unfolds. If modern day, female heroes have a special place in your heart, give Sisters of Isis volume one a shot.

Over all it was a good story line but an easy read. The content was great. It had a little bit of everything I look for in a book: romance, girl power, and jealousy. Plus I just LOVE Egyptian mythology. It had a great story line and I would read the 3rd book if it came out. But like I said before, easy read.
