An ancient structure is unearthed beneath the city of Bond and a squad of six city guards are dispatched to find out what lurks within.
This short story takes place within the same world as that of the author's other fantasy writings. Hopefully you will find a little humor here, just a little, and a decent enough tale in this short story of 10,000 words.
Also included is a preview including Chapter 1 of the novel, "City of Rogues: Book I of the Kobalos Trilogy."

This darn good short story. Me like a lot. You read or we ride you down like dog you are. Ha ha! Me just kidding. Maybe. You better read instead of find out.
Caesar Augustus
Verily, I say unto you, this tripe shall not pass for fine literature, but it can bring a smile to one's face, though a slight smile. I wish to read more from this author because, frankly, the rest must be an improvement.
This is supposed to be funny? Not one helmet bumps against a wall! I can't believe this garbage! Who do I see about getting my money back? Sure, it was only 99 cents, but I've got an Empire to run here and it ain't cheap.
Hannibal Lecter
Hmm, though not high art by any means, there is something finely delicious about some of the language used here. The hoi poloi will cut through this as if with the sharpest of small blades, but the dull will likely find some minor amusement. Peruse at your own risk, but if you should do so, remember to be kind.
Sherlock Holmes
Pure poppycock! Mildly humorous at best, and the title gives too much away. Watson, hand me something better to read.
