Meet the Author

Ralph Compton stood six-foot-eight without his boots. He worked as a musician, a radio announcer, a songwriter, and a newspaper columnist. His first novel, The Goodnight Trail, was a finalist for the Western Writers of America Medicine Pipe Bearer Award for best debut novel. He was also the author of the Sundown Rider series and the Border Empire series.

My Grandmother loved this book, but didn't like the ending. so went and found the other books in the series. hope this helps! #1 The Border Empire #2 Six Guns and Double Eagles #3 Train to Durango

Great storytelling. A couple mixups but no harm done. My only disappointment was the end... ended well but clearly showed moving on.... with no direction to where.. or which book is next (publisher error?).. I'd love to find the sequel.
