Overview

You don't know me, but I know about you....

I can't make you live longer. I can't stop you  from hurting. But I can give you one wish, as  someone did for me.

It's hard for Anne Wingate  and her father to accept the doctors' diagnosis:  Anne is HIV positive. Seven years earlier, before  blood screening was required, Anne received a  transfusion to save her life, and the blood was  tainted. Now Anne must deal with the inevitable  progression of her condition. When an anonymous  benefactor promises to grant a single wish with no  strings attached, Anne decides to spend the summer on  a ranch out west and live as normally as she  possibly can. The summer seems even better than she  dreamed, especially after she meets Morgan. But  Anne hasn't confided in Morgan about her condition,  and when her health begins to deteriorate, she  suddenly leaves the ranch.

Is there time  for Anne and Morgan to meet again?

    Book Review

The book Sixteen and Dying by Lurnene McDaniel was great. The setting was good, as well as the characters. The overall story was very emotional and unforgettable. It is a sad story because the girl is dying but it's really nice that we see people care for her till her last moment. The message of the book is to love those that love you till the end. The only thing I disliked was the book length; it was much too short.I would recommend this book to others because it makes you see that the big things in life are what matter. The One Last Wish Series is great. All those books show struggles as well as accomplishments in the end; whether it's accepting a loved one is gone or appreciating that they are still there.

    i bawled!!!

i bawled my eyes out in this book. i thought it was horrible how she couldn't get close to the cowboy guy(it's been a year since i've read it) i thought it was horrible when she cut herself and he tried to help her and she ran away leaving him confused. i thought i would break into pieces when he finds out what she has. i loved this book, but i hate it for the pain it causes me.

    Sixteen and Dying-A Great Book

I decided to read this book for school, after reading other books by Lurlene McDaniel. In my opinion, it was a great book. I really liked the Western setting in the book. Anne was a responsible person, who throughout the book, managed to keep her head during the difficult times she faced. I believe this would be helpful for people going through any sort of difficulties in their lives. I only wish that Anne had been able to have better and longer relationships with the people around her. People who enjoy emotional books would really like this one. I would highly recommend this book.

Sixteen and Dying-My Favorite One Last Wish Book

I first read this book from my library and fell in love with it. I read it three times in the two weeks I had it. I cried, laughed, and found myself hoping for miracles. It shows you the strength and determination of people and the strength and determination of disease. It makes you think. Lurlene McDaniel is a genius.

    What A Wonderful Book!

Like all of Lurlene McDaniel's books, this book makes you think of how lucky you are if you don't have a specific illness. I just felt sort of bad for Morgan when Anne wouldn't explain things to him, and thought everything was his fault. It was very sad at the end, though.

    Wow!

I love this book. I do not have the seperate version, but this comes with two other books. (But anyway..) This book is one of the best I have ever read. Morgan, one of your main characters is just about as dreamy as they come. He tries to hide his emotion in his tough cowboy work, but ends up surprising Anne every once and awhile. So many surprises. Some parts make you think..'Would she act differently if she wasn't HIV positive?'
