Overview

Sam Nash, P.I. , Hard Boiled Mysteries reminiscent of the Pulp Fiction era of fifty years ago when tough, street smart, Private Eyes survived on cigarettes, booze, and stakeouts. A time when the good guys weren't always good and the bad guys were really bad, and each new case brought them two toe-to-toe in suspense and danger. Mike Pettit has taken that same genre and fast forwarded to current day Los Angeles and has his man, Sam Nash down on the street, fighting today's gun mutts in the never ending battle against crime. Nash wins some, and loses some, but never gives up until the mutts are down and bleeding.
The Skid Row Murders drops down into L.A.'s underbelly where young men are being stalked and murdered by a sick and twisted sexual predator. Mega rich movie stars are living in a wonderland of Hollywood dreams by day, and secret lives of decadence and destruction once the sun drops. Sam Nash walks the fine line of social respectability with Hollywood's movers and shakers and is known as a street level tough guy that knows all the tricks, scams, and pressure points, and isn't afraid to go the distance...if the money's right.

Meet the Author

Mike Pettit's thirty years of adventure and experiences living and working in the Far East gives him the voice of authority in his writings of Asian business and crime, and how the two are considered one in the same. The Oriental's obsession with power and greed, gambling and sex, and the need to win at any cost. The driving force of "Face", and the life threatening humiliation of losing it.
Pettit has spent his share of time in little known back-water ports around Asia, learning and applying the rules of the East, knowing when a business deal is done, when to run, believe only half of what you see, and nothing of what you are told, survival goes in the plus column.
Always an avid SCUBA diver, Mike spends his time diving his way around the Caribbean, searching for gold doubloons and pieces of eight. At home, on Florida's Emerald Coast, he spends his time writing the series. Stories of lost honor, stolen money, danger coming at you like a tracer round, where the good guy doesn't always win, and the bad guy isn't always who you think it is.
