Editorial Reviews

Midwest Weekends - Gauper Beth
Skiing the North Shore is just the kind of guide I like — it’s got lots of detailed maps and useful how-to information. I’ve skied many of the trails Andrew Slade has included in this book, and his descriptions are right on. They’ll be especially useful for people who don’t know much about the trails and are trying to decide which ones to pick. It’s hard, since there are so many beautiful trails! This guide definitely is worth the money.

So much more than just a guidebook

I found this book to be a comprehensive guide to the cross country ski trails in the Lake Superior region that would be of use to the regular skier and occasional skier alike. I've already come up with some great ideas from this book for my ski trip this winter. More than a guidebook, this book includes interesting facts about the area and tips to make North Shore skiing all the more enjoyable. Even with the wealth of information available on web sites, there are times when it's more convenient to have all the information you need in one place to take with you wherever you go just like you can do with this useful book.

A Must Have Book for the Minnesota Skier

Skiing the North Shore is THE guide to cross-country skiing on the north shore of Lake Superior. I've lived in the area for the past six years and still come back to the book to find new places to ski or tips about which trails are the best. With the enormous amount of skiing in the area--over 400km in Cook County alone--it's nice to have a guidebook along that includes everything. This book serves as a nice companion to the beautiful xc skiing in the northland.

A great book to keep in the glove compartment.

    Andrew Slade Knows the Trails

Andrew Slade has skied the trails and walked the trails when there is no snow. I've known Andrew for eight years, and went cross-country skiing with him and his family last winter at Cascade River trails. I live at the "Heart of the North Shore" in Little Marais, MN. There are three easy, beautiful trails within a 20 minute drive from my home. You can trust what Andrew says about easy or difficult trails.

Well done Cross Country Ski guide for Minnesota's North Shore!

As a professional ski guide I use this book on a regular basis. The trail descriptions are spot on and very well detailed. I see people using this book on a regular basis and they also appreciate the detail in the descriptions. Buy this book, you will be glad you did. This is the best investment you will make this ski season. It is cheaper than a wax job for your skis and will last way longer!
