Meet the Author

Layla's Hunter's love of romance began at age eleven when her Nanny (referred to lovingly as 'Nanns') slipped her a couple ofTrue Romance comic books, along with her first romance; and it was love at first sight. Before long, she was writing her own stories and has been doing so for over two decades. Along with erotic romance, she enjoy writing fantasy/paranormal and contemporary as well.

As a full-time associate at a recovery management firm, wife, and mother to a seventeen-year old daughter, finding time to write can sometimes be a challenge, but it is always a priority.

A New Jersey native, she currently resides in an 1890 Folk Victorian that she and her husband are slowly returning to its former beauty. They share this century-old home with their daughter and a bevy of delightfully comical cats. Oh, and let’s not forget the ‘ghost mice’ … unseen to the human eye, her cats dutifully chase these invisible intruders throughout the house at three o’clock in the morning.

Although the siren call of writing commands most of her time, she also enjoys reading, photography, ghost hunting, belly dancing, shooting sports, movies, music, and actively supports several causes near and dear to her heart.

Layla has published several erotic shorts in an online magazine, as well as had one of her short stories included in a recent anthology. Romance and a deep emotional connection between her character's are integral to her writing, as is giving her readers a chance to escape into her character's world for a little
while, assuring them of a HEA. She loves hearing from her readers and is happy to answer all e-mails.

She is a member of RWA, NJRW, LSFW, Passionate Ink, FF&P RWA, Elements RWA, IWWG, Erotic Readers & Writers Association, Savvy Authors, Absolute Write, Romance Divas, GoodReads.com and Romance in the Backseat, where she entered and won the 2010 New Year’s Writer’s Rumble with her entry Karma (which she is in the process of completing), and has several WIP's.

A Top Pick from The Romance Reviews

We talk about books that change something in us. Move us. I am really going to be eating my hat here, because I found a 90 page novella that managed to do just that. SKIN DEEP left me speechless. It swept me away, left sweet tears in my eyes and a smile on my heart. Fans of emotionally intense stories just have to check this one out.

I'd never heard the term Morphea before, but after Ms. Hunter described it, I am pretty certain I've seen it. It's a rare skin disease that leaves the individual's skin discolored and blotchy. In SKIN DEEP, Emily Monroe is trying to recover from her bout with the disease. With the lingering effects still affecting her self-esteem, she ignores her doctor's advice and decides to get a tattoo to mask the blotchiness.

Rick Sutton has scars of his own. A drunk driver nearly stole Rick's legs and did steal the life of his sister after crashing into Rick's motorcycle. Years later he walks with a cane, dealing with the pain in his legs but ignoring the pain that remains in his heart.

When Emily walks into Rick's tattoo shop, she takes his breath away. This tall, statuesque beauty has no idea how amazing she is. It doesn't take long for him to recognize the pain she still harbors in her own heart.

It took me less than an hour to finish SKIN DEEP, but it will take ages for me to shake its lingering effects. I could feel Rick's and Emily's individual pain. And as they shared more of themselves with each other, I could feel the healing taking effect and the love growing. By the time the two caved in to their lust for each other, I think I was ready to pop open the champagne and start the celebration.

SKIN DEEP is a beautiful tale that will warm your heart and light your fire. Contemporary romance fans who can handle some pretty detailed and very hot sizzle in their books are going to really enjoy this treat. Enjoy!
