3.5 stars. "Survivor" meets "MILF Island"? McKenna's characters are always varied and fully realized, her writing naturalistic and compelling. This book is stronger as a series of character studies than as an adventure thriller, since so much of the intriguing background is left unplumbed. Even so, McKenna fans will find SKIN GAME a strong and worthwhile read. Stupid cover art, though, and the title is a cheap play on words that doesn't adequately represent or sell the story; silly Ellora's Cave.
