Purpose: The purpose is to improve the reader's knowledge and skill in skin surgery. It brings together the experience and expertise of a family practitioner and three dermatologists for time efficient, cost effective, curative, and cosmetically excellent skin surgery. These are worthy objectives and the book is successful in achieving these objectives.
Audience: It is intended for students, residents, primary care practitioners, dermatologists, and mid-level practitioners. The authors' obvious expertise and clinical acumen have been refined with time.
Features: The quality of the photographs and illustrations is excellent. The references are up-to-date and well chosen. I am particularly impressed by the tables, which are very informative and practical.
Assessment: This is an outstanding resource for students, residents, primary care practitioners, dermatologists, and mid-level practitioners to learn the fundamentals of skin surgery. It encompasses the diagnosis of skin lesions, practical listings of basic instruments, up-to-date tables, and excellent color pictures. The discussions and illustrations of various dermatologic operations and techniques are superb.
