Changed My Life

This book is the push I needed. I am 42 and have been a size 20 for years. Started this book on a Thursday and by the following Monday I had given up coffee'former Starbucks Barista'& dairy. This is the lifestyle guidance I never knew I was searching for but desperately needed. Wonderful book that I thankfully checked out from the library and now buying. Great Book with simple language and information for everyone. Went shopping and am down a size in jeans.

    this book changed my life!

Well if anything, I can say this book really changed my life. It's very straight forward and it doenst try to sugar coat anything and that's why it's so efficient in getting the message through and making you see the truth. After reading this book, I've changed many of my bad eating habits and have been a successful vegetarian for over a year! 'No sacrifice if you ask me!!' So if you are going to read it for the first time, all I can say is keep an open mind and enjoy!

    Disgusted and Disappointed

I am extremely disappointed in the deceptive practices used by the two authors to sell books and shove their animal rights agenda down the throats of people who purchased the book in hopes of obtaining sincere advice on how to become healthier. I read this book from cover to cover and walked away with the same knowledge about nutrition that I did before I purchased the book.

The authors may actually hurt their cause rather than help it. If they were not honest when titling the book why should I believe that the information it contains is truthful?

This book used graphic and nauseating descriptions of slaughterhouse accounts to shock and disgust readers into becoming vegans. Personally I don't believe that either author is concerned about the health or well being of humans. Their focus is on the treatment of animals and whatever kickback or praise they will receive from PETA.

I would not recommend this book to anyone who is trying to better their health or anyone with a weak stomach.

    Love this book

This book is an eye opener to what rally happens to what we eat. It has definately changed me as a person and I commend the skinny bitches on writing this. SOme people say that don't care for their 'tough love' approach but i think thats what drives the message through even more.

    Hated it

all this book says is ... if you are not VEGAN then you are an idiot and you are wrong! about everything and you are gross ... being vegan is a personal choice. I am not vegan and I am totally fit! great muscle definition... which I work hard at the gym for. and I eat healthy ... I don't consider myself to be disgusting. I didn't like this book because the way its written says if you do not think the way the authors do then you are stupid. Dumb book. this is only a good book if you are vegan or are looking to be vegan.

    You will lose weight....

I actually became a vegan 10 years ago when I didn't even know what it was. I was just disgusted by the thought of drinking milk & eating eggs. I was a vegetarian first for a year then slowly turned into a vegan, but I lost 15 pounds just becoming a vegan. My fiance just went to a Tony Robbins seminar where they go over the same thing as they did in this book, except they show films. My fiance who loved his steak dinner, now is a vegetarian. He hasn't been exercising regularly but seems to not gain the stomach weight like he did when he ate meat. So those who are not as open minded & more closed off... I suggest not read this. Those who want to lose weight by changing your diet, this will work. Only if you have the will power to do so. If your not a big reader they have it on audio-book you can purchase on Itunes. I think every mother should read this book if she has children. It is very educational, but very discriptive.

    Life Changing

Great information if you are trying to get healthy. They make a clear, strong case for cutting out meat, eggs, dairy, and over-processed foods. The language is so straight-talking it made me laugh out loud sometimes, but overall, the information is concise and direct. They tell you what you need to know to healthy and they don't dance around it. I've been following their advice for two weeks and already feel so much better and so much more energy, I'll never go back to my old way of eating (and thinking). If you're ready for a new life, buy the book!

    I loved it.

Yes, they cuss a lot and yes, they do go into gory details about animal slaughter but hey it's the truth and people should wake up to what they are eating. For those of you who like to pretend that meat and dairy come from the grocery store only, don't read the book it will destroy your fantasy. We were vegan already and this book just reminded us why. The second book is all recipes and every one I have tried is quite good. The do go heavier on the fat than I am used to so I just make adjustments. My teenage daughter loved this book and read it in one day. It is a very easy read with common sense information. I hesitated to buy it for months and when I finally caved in I was glad I did.

    Absolute Trash

If I could give these books less than a star, I would. The pages of these books are riddled with unscientific, irresponsibly advised garbage that no knowledgable health professional would ever advocate. The author(s) should be ashamed for dishing out such ridiculous, unhealthy advice in such a condescending way. Horrible.

This is not a diet book

I was stunned through out most of the book. The language is pretty harsh, I could deal with that. What really got me was the explicit way they detailed animal slaughter. THAT is the point of this book. I doubt that as hardcore vegans they had really witnessed any of it, and I am not saying that it was not accuratly portrayed 'I have not witnessed this nor am I sure that I would want to'. I feel very mislead and seriously ripped off. It is not a diet book.

    A reviewer

the first chapter was captavating, 'Aspartam', 'When methyl alcohol, acomponent of aspartame, enter your body7, it turns into formaldehyde.' i thought WHAT!? this book is got to be read, my disappointment is that they tell you all these manufactures doing stuff to what you eat just for the big buck. i thought it was very hypocritical that they use names and brands of organic food manufactures you should buy from. maybe Rory and Kim are getting a little kick back themselves.? i guess you could call this a 'good' brain washing.

    New Vegan

I want my children to read about being vegan and this book, although simply written, is FILLED with profanity. Totally not needed.

    more from this reviewer

Only read this if you dare to be enlightened and are ready to change the way you think about what you eat.

Be forewarned that this book does not mince words and is not for anyone offended by cursing. I personally hesitated to read it becasue of the language, but the information was too great to ignore. The authors cover everything from cruelty to animals to the break down of artificial sugars to formaldehyde in your body. You can not read this book with out making some change to your diet, unless you are already a whole food vegan. Do not fear the information and use the truth to help you find alternatives that work for you as well as show you how to stick up for what you believe. The authors are bold, honest and pure of heart. Thank you for being brutally honest, even if I think you could have done it with a bit less profanity, it was nessecary to get some people to pay attention.

    easy diet book

It was very helpful and made me change a lot of habits immediately. I think parts of the book will be a review for some people because its things you already know are good for you. I disagree its a peta book. There's only 2 chapters on meat and dairy and everything in the book is backed up with references. I'm definitely getting my husband skinny bastard!

    PETA Lovers enjoy

If you are a member of PETA or the like, this is the book for you. It's obvious that the "writers" are PETA-like organizers. Many chapters are basically the "writers" giving their personal feedback on the meat industry. They are vegans so no animal products at all are what they are pushing. If you are looking for good lifestyle changing books, this is not for you. I think they are looking to recruit for PETA, they aren't really trying to help you become healthier.

    Not what the book claims

I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF AND MISLEAD! If you are readying this book based on the claim, 'A no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous!' and hope to learn what these authors consider 'crap' you will be disappointed. This is a book written by vegetarians to push their agenda on those that eat meat. They use tactics to ensure you are completely disgusted by the meat industry. I'm not saying what they say isn't true, I'm convinced it is. But, don't pretend to offer advise to a group of people 'fat people' that are looking for help and then flip the script and make the book about some political argument against meat. This makes you 'skinny ... ' no different than the meat industry and FDA that aren't looking out for us, neither are you.
