Skinny is a sometimes funny, sometimes scary and most of the times weird book about a regular guy that takes a wrong turn into a sort of twilight zone. This is the book that got me started on Donovan's books. Some of the scenes are downright heart-pounding. At one point I had to put the book down, it freaked me out that badly. And I don't freak easily. Unlike the author's Detective Marcella Witch's series, which I absolutely love, this book has no real mystery to solve. It's more like a bad dream that our protagonist needs to awake from. Unfortunately for him, there is no easy awakening. My take-a-way? Get it. It will make a fine addition to your Nook shelf.

Overview
Plenty is a strange place and not what it seems. There is a dirty little secret there, which no one talks about, and what roams around in the tunnels below the streets, no one dares mention. Johnny Beckman knows that certain crimes can get a man in trouble wherever he goes. What he doesn't know is that in the town of Plenty, none is more serious than that of being too skinny.
