Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Youngest readers can enjoy the antics of the big-eared cat in Skippyjon Jones: Color Crazy and Skippyjon Jones: Up and Down, both by Judy Schachner. Youngsters follow the feline as he colors a "big blue sun" and a purple puddle in the first book, then demonstrating opposites (e.g., "He zooms back and forth") in the second. This is a very short and simple board book, not like the others we have read (Skippyjon Jones and Skippyjon Jones in the Dog House) which are long delightful tales. But this is a cute book with a character we love and is easier for my one year old to play with so I am still glad we have it.

I bought this book for my son when he was 7 months old and it has been his favorite book ever since. He gets excited and claps his hands, laughs and eagerly turns pages over and over again. Now a year old, when we ask 'Where's Skippyjon?' he grabs his Skippyjon Jones opposites book and comes running!

My 18 mo grandson just loves this book! He doesn't talk yet but follows Mommy around grunting and handing it up so she'll read it to him... only about 20 times a day! Cute book and wonderful little charecter!
