    Pretty Good, but...

I've had a hard time deciding what I really thought of this book. I didn't like it as well as the first two, but it's still a pretty good book.
I'm not sure if my uncertainty with this book was based more on the fact that I like Strike and Nate (the Heroes of books 1 & 2) more than I like Michael (Hero of book 3), or what else it could be. It was a good book, though - and a definite addition to the series. My gripes are as follows 1) the rules and myths that surround what is and what can't be (why can't Michael carry the juntan mark again?) are very confusing and not explained clearly enough. 2) Too much angst for stupid reasons. These are adults, grow up and accept responsibility for yourselves. 3) One thing I miss with this series is a little look-see into the lives of the people living around them. I wanted a blurb or something about Nate and Alexis and where they are, or something more than just them showing up to talk to Sasha. And there was no Anna - her story and plight in dealing with the reality of her heritage, and her longing to remain in the "real world" with her husband is one of the integral sub-stories of the series. 4) Unrealistic changes to characters. When they are having the Royal Council meeting, neither Alexis nor Leah said anything, and in the other books they were both VERY opinionated. Hoping I like the next book more, but still liked this one as an addition to the series. I wouldn't read it as a stand alone, though.

    Must Read!

Intelligent and intense. The third book of the Final Prophecy series delivers! It's got romance but it also has suspense, adventure, angst, bad guys, good guys and some you're not so sure of.

This series just gets better with each book release. I highly recommend it!

    Great worldbuilding

Sasha Ledbetter desperately searches for her vanished Mayanist father Dr. Ambrose Ledbetter. She is shocked when she locates his remains in an ancient temple. However, she has no time to mourn her loss; as Xibalba worshiper and high chieftain Iago capturers her. He tortures her seeking information about those who oppose his effort to bring back the demon Banol Kax into the world.

Nightkeeper warrior Michael Stone learns where Sasha is and leads a successful rescue mission. Michael and Sasha are attracted to each other, but he tries to ignore his feelings because he fears passion will ignite the dark side of his nature while Sasha wonders if her disbelief in her late father's theory of Nightkeepers enabled her to disavow that she might be one of them. However, both recons finding a missing critical Mayan depository which comes before their desire for one another, as Iago is not waiting for love to uncover that same ancient library.

As Michael discovers new powers that he must learn to use, the doomsday clock is ticking against the Nightkeepers warriors as the demon and his adulating horde push the end of days. Michael and Sasha are a terrific pairing who may be in love, but each wonders whether the Final Prophecy's kismet leaves them no choices; their feelings for one another may be predestined and disturbingly to both neither can say no. Fans will enjoy the latest exhilarating Mayan Final Prophecy urban fantasy thriller (see DAWNKEEPERS and NIGHTKEEPERS) with the philosophical debate of free choice vs. predetermination while time is running out on those who want to save the planet from Xibalba.
