Meet the Author

Matt Burgess
Matt Burgess is Skylar's owner. He lives outside Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, daughter and son. He holds two degrees from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

His experience learning history as an adult led to a passion to share what he had learned with his children in excitingly real ways. A search for children's books found a few that were nothing like he hoped. Rather than give up, he poured his vision into creating an effective educational tool. The result is an innovative book called Skylar and George Washington.
