I know my style of books that I'm into when I'm reading. One of the types that I always enjoyed reading is the whole captive romance concept, they always intrigued me. This read for me had a sci fi / vampire feel to it, with a mix of erotica. Just to let the readers know, its sexually graphic..

Madison is on her way home, when she is taken by aliens. Afraid and wanting to go home, she is then taken and prep for a slavery auction were humans are considered prize slaves and expensive. , Madison goes to Jul, at a high price. Jul and his friend Rex is walking through the market when he spots Madison and decides to purchase the human slave. Rex , his friend is surprised by his decision as it is out of his character.

When Jul takes Madison home, soon being his slave turns into a desire so strong neither Jul or Madison can ignore. Jul also realizes the taste of Madison brings out a power that he first thought was a myth but now knows is real. Knowing this, he has to keep what she is capable of to himself and those closest to him. But soon jealously leads to betrayal by one of those in his circle.

I do enjoy the author's style of writing and creativity with her books. With this story the mix of sci fi/vampire like read was no different. I personally enjoyed the short novella and the story being told. In a way I was expecting Jul to be more stern as a capturer, but he was a sweet heart and really cared for Madison. Madison's dilemma in wanting to go home but now seems to be in love with Jul was a good read. I enjoy the twist at the end as well.

    Storyline: FAIR
    Intimacy: GOOD
    Enjoyment: GOOD

    Nice intro to the genre

Madison Edwards was kidnapped by alien slavers as she was walking home. Now she finds herself sold into slavery and struggling to understand the alien world she's being held captive in. She also finds her feelings for her master are conflicted and she's torn between wanting to return home and her attraction to him. Jul made a spontaneous decision to purchase a rare human female at the slave market. Humans are known to have mystical sexual powers but he believes the tales are only myth. That is, until he brings Madison into his home and she soon consumes his thoughts and his life. In his world, she's valuable and magical. He fears he can't protect her and his friends only further complicate the situation by getting involved. When everyone on the planet desires what you value most, it takes more than love to protect her. This was the first erotic piece I've ever read. I think it was nice of the author to give you a warning on the content. She even went as far as to mention that there's a little kissing between two females. It gave you a good idea what you were in store for as far as the sexual aspect of the book. However, that's not what blew me away. In only 48 pages, Ashlynn Monroe created a lush universe with a slave trade and prominent characters with real relationships. The story was great and it left me wanting more. I really felt like this short story had the potential to be a novel had the author not committed to a short story. She created a highly emotional dramatic plot that will leave you hoping that this isn't where she stops. That perhaps it could be the start to a series of short stories. For those of you that are wondering how spicy the sexual content is, it pushes the envelope more than the conventional romance obviously. There are nipple clamps, some metal underwear, some female kissing as mentioned before and a really steamy sex scene that's like watching something on late night cable. It's not excessive but it is spicy. All in all, I think this was a great introduction to the genre. I always like Ashlynn's books they're quirky and fun reads no matter what the heat level! Thank you to Ashlynn for the advanced review copy. It in no way influenced my review.

    What did i buy?

Started off good then Bam! Over. What a major disapointment. It felt like someone just ripped your book into small sections and gave a few of them back to you randomly.
