Amazon - A Stankus
We wanted help getting our daughter to sleep for naps. She sleeps great at night but is a terrible napper. Prior to reading this book, she would nap in our arms for 30-minutes per nap. I love holding her for her naps, but knew that she would eventually be too big/old for this, not to mention I'd like a few minutes to get something done while she sleeps. She would wake up from naps still tired so I knew we had to change our ways. I previously had tried laying her in her crib for naps but couldn't

We unknowingly created our daughters sleep problems by never teaching her how to put herself to sleep. The no cry solution didnt work, and letting her cry it out was never an option. How could we ask our child to solve the problem by herself that we had created? With Kims knowledge and thoughtful, caring approach, we were able to gently empower Sophia to put herself to sleep. Kim has an amazing gift to share

I purchased this book when I had my first baby. I liked how the author had each chapter devoted to a specific age (newborn to 5 years old) and what to expect for a baby's average amount of daytime and nighttime sleep. In each chapter, there was also developmental changes and how those affect a baby's sleep. The beginning of the book talks about the sleep lady's eight rules of infant slumber. I felt this advice really helped me as a new mom to understand my baby. This book works; it has become my token baby shower gift! My first baby was sleeping through the night (bedtime 7:30pm and awake at 7:30am) at 12 weeks and my second baby was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks!

I looked this book up because of a suggestion from the internet when i was looking for help on why my baby at 15 months wasnt sleeping through the night. I bought the book and did the steps and by the third night my baby was falling asleep, in her crib and sleeping through the night. It is a much gentler method than the ferber method and it really does work. This book is going to be my #1 baby shower gift from now on. Thank you sleepy lady.
