Overview

Katarina Bloomfield longs to be the ordinary high school senior she portrays. On the surface, her life appears idyllic, so no one suspects that she is an alien-hybrid whose mission is to take over the world.
To live such an extraordinary lie would seem impossible, but Katarina pulls it off as she has no choice. They need a new home and Earth is the perfect place.
Being the only one of her kind ordered to live among a human family, Katarina discovers that pretending to be the girl next door isn't difficult. Feelings do not exist on her planet and hybrids are trained to suppress them. Yet,
when Katarina genuinely embraces her emotions, she easily fits in among humans.
When the High Council of her planet deviates from its original plan, Katarina must relinquish the small amount of control she has over her destiny. But when she discovers a way to have the life she's always dreamed of, she is
reluctant to go. Leaving means choosing between the things she holds most dear to her heart, which she cannot bring herself to do. But waiting too long to decide may cost her everything… and leave her trapped in a fate far
worse than death.

Meet the Author

Sandra Y. Desjardins was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Her passion for reading and writing began at an early age. Being the youngest of four children, she was determined to keep up with her older brothers
and sister. When she wasn’t chasing after them, she would often sit with the Encyclopedia Britannica her mother purchased for the family and peruse the endless articles and facts. Her early research sparked her creativity and
she would sit and write short stories using the information she gathered.
At age twenty, she joined the U.S. Army. After completing several years of service, Sandra relocated to Texas where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She later went on to
complete a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and worked in that field for several years.
When her husband took employment that required extensive traveling, Sandra became a stay-at-home mother and devoted her spare time to writing. Having written as a hobby for years, she took the opportunity to begin new
projects. She is also working on converting many of her short stories into full-length novels.
A noted science-fiction geek, Sandra’s stories typically involve extraterrestrials or supernatural entities. She grew up watching television shows like Quantum Leap, The Twilight Zone, The X-Files and Star Trek: The Next
Generation. As a child, her favorite authors were Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Johanna Lindsey. Her early experiences with books and television inspired a lifelong passion for science fiction and all things unexplainable.
Sandra currently resides in Central Texas and lives with her husband, daughter, dog, and five cats. She is the Director at A Tale of Two Kitties Publishing and is currently working on several young adult paranormal & science
fiction romances.

    Couldn't put it down

I really enjoyed this book. It caught me quit off guard but quickly learned to love the characters. I hope there is a sequel to this story. What comes next for Kat and Jason not to mention the entire human race.

Great book, I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

Very well written, great story line. Exciting from the begining to the end. I can't wait for the next book continuing this story.
