In Sleeping Beauties: Newborns in Dreamland, Raver's lens has captured newborns as they inhabit that magical place - a world where past and future dreams come together in an ethereal realm. In most instances, the babies portrayed are brand new, on their way home for the very first time. It is in this state of newness, of transition from their warm cocoon of the past nine months to their journey of a new life, that she captures them as they slumber, dream, and awaken to their new surroundings.\

    Gentle and Joyful

I've waited for this book unpatiently but finaly I've got it! As a baby's photographer I think it's a 'must have it' book because it gives me a different approach and inspiration when working with babies and newborns. There's an ocean of photobooks out there but this on makes difference as it really touches your soul and is able to moves you deeply.
Probably the mothers are the people who will understand me but I hope others will be interested in as well. So if you hesitate to buy or not just give yourself moments for relaxation and return back to your babyhood WITH this excellent photobook!

    So adorable.....

Gave this book as a gift to a new mom to be for Mother's Day. She loved it. I love it. I bought it because I saw the photographers on a morning show on t.v. one day and realized they are based out of my home town .....Omaha, Nebraska. Great, great pictures. I don't even have kids yet and I love it.

    Enchanting

Raver and Ryden have created a book I couldn't put down. The photography is enchanting and the corresponding quotes are relevant and thought provoking. I purchased the book as a Mother's Day gift for my mother, but found myself browsing the pages over and over again before finally wrapping it.

    pure delight

This book gave me an hour of pure delight. The photos are charming and so beautiful. The quotes are interesting, although I haven't had the time to read them slowly and reflect on them. It spurred a wonderful conversation with a woman I know who is pregnant.
