Three girls get invited to a sleepover at Deirdre Shannon's, where they play games, eat pizza and cake, and watch Deirdre open her presents. However, one present catches the girls' attention: the City Doll Hollywood Heather. After a good night's sleep, a panicked Deirdre wakes Nancy up to tell her that her Hollywood Heather doll is missing and begs her to help solve the case. Nancy, George, and Bess set out to discover who has taken the missing doll. The three girls collect evidence, generate a suspect list, and begin to question the other girls who attended the sleepover. Once they have questioned the last suspect, they turn their attention to another girl, Madison Foley, Deirdre's best friend. Could Madison be the culprit? This novel helps to teach readers not to jump to conclusions when something goes missing but investigate to find out the truth. In this first book of the Clue Crew series, Nancy narrates the story, giving readers an inside look into her mystery-solving techniques and thought processes and helps them take part in cracking the case.     Great Start for Nancy Drew!

    This is the perfect way to introduce your young child to the Nancy Drew series. My daughter is turning 6, and enjoys them. The only complaint she has is there are not enough pictures (she wants one on every page). I also got these as gifts for some of her friends and they love them. There are appropriate for the age listed, easy to follow. Great series.

    Buy this book

    I am a lover of the Nancy Drew mysteries and when I read this book I thought it was really cute. It is a good book to read even though it might be a book for young readers. I hope that if you buy it or read the free sample you will love it a much as I did.

    Loved it!

    My daughter will be 8, dec of 09.She loved the story.We read it together.The new age look of Nancy Drew makes a world of difference for young readers.She liked the cover showing kids her own age.
