The Rainbow Fish fans will enjoy this story of a young owl who looks for some playmates, but can't seem to get her days and nights straight. One night, she comes to the window of a young boy's room and wakes him to play. The boy asks the owl to return in the day, and gives her an alarm clock to make sure she awakens. The alarm clock unsettles the owl community, and the little owl is too tired to join the boy. Little owl decides to wake up earlier in the evening, rather than the day, and return the alarm clock to the boy. The boy is just going to bed, but the earlier rising provides young owl with enough owl playmates, anyway. The charming owl illustrations overshadow the somewhat confusing conclusion. 1998 (orig.
