Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melinda Medley Sprinkle
Peering through his catflap, Slinky Malinki mischievously disappears into the moonlit night. Curiosity doesn't kill this cat, and in fact, his purrs and meows draw the attention of all other felines, big and small. All the meticulously named cats and kittens join the hobnob at the top of the wall. All is dandy until old, irritated Scarface Claw sneaks his way through, suddenly causing high pitched shrills and hisses. This chain of events lead to much commotion and even disturbs the whole neighborhood. Delightful rhyming is found within all Slinky Malinki books including this one. The rhyme scheme is funny and playful, and young children will enjoy pairing the words that rhyme on every page. Lovely, eye-catching illustrations capture the true spirit of Slinky Malinki and help give vivid images of his adventure. This story is sure to become a favorite.
