Sliss the Storyteller's Book of Poems
Heart of the Book;

Poetically capturing life while living in a poetic universe. Poetry is the source of my creativity and my life is the arena in which I share. The stories of my life and things relating to it are captured within. Here are three poetic teasers:

Mother Earth;
As the lava cools clouds start to form.
Producing the worlds largest storm.
As the clouds clear the sky comes into view.
Mother Earth chooses the prettiest shade of blue.

Truck Driving Man;
If being reckless helps you feel alive.
The only question is, how will you arrive?
So Always look both ways, and know your good.
You don't wanna become an ornament on the hood.

Anger Management;
When troubles arise.
Anger strikes without surprise.
It launches an attack upon the brain.
Must control must maintain.

The completion of these three poetic teasers along with thirty three others gives this book a total of thirty six poems. Topics are generated from different ideas that range from celestial objects such as the poem titled "The Sun" to some earthly creatures titled "Wings of Spirit" and "Spiritual Butterflies". Something scary was added like the "The Awaking" a poem about being awake at the wrong time. The Awakening is a poem that is scary yes, but it has a surprise at the end. Everyone should find something interesting and enjoyable in this Book of Poems. I recommend parents or guardians review the book's contents for all ages under eighteen. Thanks for taking the time to give this title your consideration.

About the Author

Welcome to my corner where Christopher Briggs became Sliss The Storyteller. Born as Christopher in Michigan during march of nineteen sixty seven. I became Sliss in my freshman year at Chippewa Vally High School. This was due to a nickname given to me by a close friend. Later in life I did stand up comedy and used this name as a pseudonym. I put together ten minutes or so of a comedy routine based on my experiences and found my love for writing poetry while doing so. My first attempts at writing poetry were poetic invites to weekend events at my house and a poem for my brothers wedding. Then I was inspired by a number of occurrences in my life to write my first poem. After sharing this poem with a few friends I felt encouraged to write more. Soon I was spending my free time creating poems from an assortment of unusual occurrences either in my life or around it.
I went from comedy open mic nights to poetry style open mic nights. After having done both I found my true passion to be writing poetry.
