Like his good friend Walter Trout, Joe Bonamassa is a virtuoso blues guitarist, as well as a first class song writer, but neither has been able to gain much attention or radio play over the last 20 years. Part of the problem is that there are few blues stations to let people hear the incredible music of such legendary master like Jimmy Thackery, Coco Montoya, Gary Moore, and Walter Trout. The highlights of this new album are "Sloe Gin' and Richmond", but he does a nice job on a few covers as well. His songwriting is finally catching up to his formidable guitar skills, so hopefully this will be his breakthrough album that introduces his work to a wider audience. If you get the chance to hear him live you will understand why his peers consider him to be one of the finest blues guitarists on the planet.
