Overview

Book 1 – Slow Burn: Zero Day
Book 2 – Slow Burn: Infected

Slow Burn: Infected (Book 2 of the series) picks up the story of Zed, Murphy and Jerome where Slow Burn: Day Zero ended.

The three slow-burning survivors have not succumbed to the virus’s symptoms that turn most into mindless cannibals but they have been turned out of their fairly secure hiding spot in the dorm by the uninfected ROTC group, who fear them.

On the streets once more, fortified with weapons, but precious little else, they head for Murphy’s old neighborhood, in search of a house rumored to stand atop a fortified, well-supplied underground doomsday bunker. And if ever there was a doomsday, this is it.

But, as the practical Murphy continues to point out, it’s a new day. They have two enemies, now: those who are infected and would kill them, and those who are not…and would kill them.

Meet the Author

I'm just going to put this out there: I grew up with an irrational fear of Flying Monkeys. How is a little kid supposed to know that they only exist in Oz?

I'm not a native of any state. I've lived in so many that I see myself as a native American, which works out for me since I am also fractionally a Native American to an improbable, yet significant degree.

I lived more than half of my life in Texas and I have a great affinity for Austin. it is a wonderfully diverse city full of interesting people.

I now live in Colorado where I enjoy spending my time in the mountains, cycling, hiking, or walking my dogs. Oh, and writing... I do that too.

Slow burn 2 has kept the same high quality we zombie lovers appreciated in book 1. It's not your typical zombie head smasher that has no plot or fleshed out main characters. This story hooks you in book 1 and doesn't let go. The writer is making very short episodes so don't be too disappointed at the 108 pages. I think eventually all three or more books will be combined into one satisfyingly page turning creation. I'm a new fan, looking forward to the next release. Give these books a try...they make a deliciously tasty read. Jp

One of the things I love about new authors self-publishing is that we are treated to talent that the major book publishers might have overlooked. Bobby Adair's Slow Burn series is one of those "diamonds in the rough," a unique spin on the classic Zombie plot that can easily entice the reader. Told from the perspective of one of the infected, a "slow burn" who displays the symptoms of his fellow zombies without the mental damage, Slow Burn is both a "zombie" novel and a survival story that brings many of the elements of both plot devices to the forefront. Bobby Adair demonstrates again that even classic plot lines can be given fresh new life by a talented author by way of the story telling. The great strength of Slow Burn is the characters, all of whom are rich in depth, intriguing in their attitude and actions, and have developed as the story progresses. Right now the only concern I have is that each installment of Slow Burn is very short. At only about a hundred pages, you can burn through this book in an hour and a half. If Mr. Adair intends twenty installments, each costing 99 cents, it will be a challenge for him to keep the intensity and action present in each "book" to keep readers engaged. I'd almost prefer to have Slow Burn in novel format, with three or four of Mr. Adair's "books" compiled into one narrative and pay $2.99 for it. But for now, Mr. Adair has a winning combination.

    Good

But i will not keep paying $1.00+ for just 100 pages... Not worth that makes for an expensive novel by an unknown!
