Overview

A wallowing, self-pitying collection that includes the Unifics' "The Beginning of My End," with its funeral setting; "Cry Together," the O'Jays' dramatization about a couple with serious issues; Tina Marie's teary "Dear Lover"; Patti Labelle's pleading "If Only You Knew"; Enchantments' sad realization "Where Do We Go From Here"; and the Isley Brothers' shameless, begging "Let Me Down Easy." Furthermore, Shirley Brown and Barbara Mason want to whip their men's outside women for messin' up their homes. So in the end, it almost seems as if Debra Laws' "Very Special" must be a mistake -- it's the only happy tune.
