The euphonious, flowing "Just Shopping Not Buying Anything" by the Dramatics is a harmonious display of vocalizing. Taken from their second album Straight to the Point, it is hard to believe that Atlantic Starr's "Losing You" made no waves upon its release in late 1979. Nonetheless, the sweet, merciful number remains a constant favorite on the Quiet Storm format. Here too, a young Howard Hewett can be heard in his mesmerizing falsetto and natural tone on Shalamar's "Somewhere There's a Love." And for a song to never chart, Earth, Wind & Fire's "Love's Holiday," which is featured on the album All 'N All, received considerable airplay during the album's reign. The sleeper on this set is "Country Girl" by the Nighters; filled with a lush string arrangement and serenading vocals, this six-man group is reminiscent of the Stylistics. This is a good addition to any collection.
