Praise for the Zombie Chasers:“What makes this latest entry into the developing middle-grade zombie canon stand out is Kloepfer’s gleeful insistence on gore and Wolfhard’s squiggly drawings that really bring the laughs. Stick around for the next vomitus volume.”
Children's Literature - Suzanna E. Henshon
Have you ever dreamed of being eaten alive by a zombie? In this comical story, every kid's worst nightmare comes to life with vivid, gruesome details. The Zombie Chasers have a special appeal for the gross-minded reader, and the latest addition to this new series only adds to its luster. Several days ago, Zack's family and friends became zombies after a virus exploded throughout the country. Zack and the Zombie Chasers dash to the rescue, determined to find an antidote that will stop the zombie virus in its tracks. But that is a very tall order. Along the way, Zack must combat gruesome, undead zombies who love to eat flesh and attack people. As Sludgment Day progresses, it appears that there is little hope. The zombies continue to unify and to grow in dangerous, unstoppable forms. Will Zack save the day? Or will the Zombie Chasers suffer a deadly ending? In this story, young readers will discover that a zombified world is scary and fun to read about. Steve Wolfhard's illustrations illuminate the zombie-filled world with amusing details. Reviewer: Suzanna E. Henshon, Ph.D.

Meet the Author

John Kloepfer began his writing career at five years old with a one-sentence short story: "And then one day the monsters came." He lives in New York City, where he is preparing for a massive zombie invasion.

David DeGrand has been drawing cartoons since he was a kid. When he's not drawing goofy pictures of gross stuff, he plays video games, watches old cartoons and weird movies, and collects toys and books. His biggest goal is to create something his son will find cool someday. He lives with his wife and family in Texas.

Steve Wolfhard lives in Toronto, Canada, with a fat cat named Haircut. The first zombie movie Steve ever saw was Return of the Living Dead, and it still scares the crud out of him.

    luv it. Read this note

I loved this book and this series. I think that both girls and boys can read this book. This is a three book series. They are really great books. But not as great as the hunger games series. The hunger ganes, catching fire, and mockinjay. You can get all thre books on your nook for less money than it would cost in the store

Somthing was holding his wrists behind the chair, bending his arms backs as if he were a handcuffe prisiner. He writhed and kicked, trying to buck loose. Frusterated and exastued, Zack went limp, playing possem for a second, before thrashing wieldly in one finall burst of energy. Thats when he herd a digital beep, and somewone lifted the bag off of his head. His sister, Zoe, stood before him. Derectly behind her, there fathers laptop sat open, on the coffie table, and Zach could see himself on the computer screen. "Zoe, what are you doing? You know dad dosent let us play with the webcam." "I'm not playing little brother," she siad, flipping her head all to glamerusly, like amaricas next top pyco preparing for her closeup "I'm prpduceing a new reality show for VH1. It's called HOSTIGE MAKE-OVER. You want to be in it?" A sinister grin streched across her face. "I'd rather die in my own vomit," Zack awnserd "Touge luck kiddo," Zoe snickerd "look, alive girls!" Samantha and Rayan held a giant roll of duct tape in one hand, and Zack turned around, she tucked it behind her back. "No peeking young Zachria!" She chided, patting him on the head. "Ok Zacky, you hold still, !" Zoe gesrued to her two minons. A second later, Ryan and Samantha were circalling, Zach, taping his uper arms and shoulders firmly to the back of the chair, qwickly moving on his legs intell they were sure he couldent excape. The mysturius pair of hands behind him finnaly unclassped his wrists. Zach felt his bloid rush, throbbing in his fingertips. Again, he tried to wiggle free, but the tape was so strong. --this will continue in zombie res one
