My favorite aspect of the book was the relationship between Rogan and Wolfe... Romance aside this book was jam packed with adventure and action, from scary kidnappers/thieves to old and new found friends, and danger in every direction.

The writing is beautiful. The story is pure creativeness. The characters are a joy to follow through the story. The heart-pumping moments are perfectly executed. And the romance is just the perfect fairy tale. This book was everything I could have hoped for, and I cannot wait to read more of Samantha's books
Fiktshun Reviews
This was a totally epic adventure. I felt like I was on this amazing journey with the characters and when it was over I felt so sad having to say goodbye. I definitely wanted more.

This re-telling of the fairy tale was great!! This book was very quick read , I couldn't put it down. The characters were wonderfully done and the romance was not in your face like some YA books!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!!

After reading, Smokeless Fire, I found myself completely in love with Samantha's creativeness and beautiful writing. So when when Rachel over at Fiktshun gifted me Slumber, I knew I was in trouble. Firstly, the cover is STUNNING. I started Slumber in the evening and did not go to bed until I finished. It's so imaginative, alluring, exciting, and all-around my perfect type of book. After being ripped away from her family, Rogan has become the Handmaiden and best friend of the Princezna Haydyn. When Haydyn falls ill to a sleeping disease, Rogan is determined to set out and save her... and she's the only one who can. With the protection of the royal guard, led by Captain Wolfe Stovia (who Rogan dislikes because of his father), she sets out on a adventure to find the Somna plant to save Haydyn. What she discovers along the way, is a world she didn't know existed, love, and that she herself is much stronger than she ever thought. I loved everything about Slumber. I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more... except maybe some more Wolfe. Unf, cannot get enough of him! But, Slumber is a twist on the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, and Samantha Young does it so much justice and then some. The fact that she created this whole world of magic, thrills, cities, and love is just purely stunning. This is one of those books, where you just adore each and every character. Where each character has a role in the story. Whether it's the strong, beautiful protagonist (aka Rogan), the protective, yet more than meets the eye, sexy love interest (Wolfe), the all-around-you-can't-help-but-love-best-friend (aka Haydyn), or all the brilliant characters you meet along the way (aka Matai, L, Kir, Valena, and Chaeron). The writing is beautiful. The story is pure creativeness. The characters are a joy to follow through the story. The heart-pumping moments are perfectly executed. And the romance is just the perfect fairy tale. This book was everything I could have hoped for, and I cannot wait to read more of Samantha's books.

I am so glad I happened across this book. The author is a brilliant story teller. Slumber had everything adventure, romance, and some thought provoking topics on human nature. Check it out you won't regret it! I look forward to reading more from this author.

where is the next book for this story?

Slumber was an enjoyable story. My only complaint about it was the heroine, Rogan. I wish she had been smarter instead of making the same bad decisions over and over. She was constantly putting herself in extremely unsafe situations and needing someone to come bail her out. After she ran off on her own the first time and ended up kidnapped, it just seemed annoying that she would do it again. When she ended up in the worst situation, although I was afraid for her, I also was angry with her for putting herself there. It was also aggravating/frustrating to me that she couldn't see what a great man Wolfe was and that she continued to hold what his father did against him. If Rogan had been a better heroine, this story would have been absolutely terrific.

I enjoy this author's writing style. She has strong sexy characters. I enjoyed this book. I am not one for fantasy type reading, but since I really enjoyed reading On Dublin Street by this author, I thought I would try another. Glad I did!

This is only my second book by this author. The first one, Dublin Street, was fantastic. This one was not even close to being as good. The 2 main characters spend most of the book not even talking to each other, so there is no romance unrtil like the last 30ish pages. A good story but don't expect a whole lot of romance...
