A chapter dedicated to the topic of effectively engaging the other students in independent activities as they relate to the stages of reading development

Beverly Tyner's book, "Small-Group Reading Instruction: A Differentiated Teaching Model for Beginning and Struggling Readers" is a wonderful reference book for teachers. It is full of suggestions and research based ideas for teaching reading. I bought it as a reference guide for my Master's paper and have decided that the information is so worthwhile that I am going to recommend it to my principal for the Professional Development Library at my school. The book also comes with a CD that has assessment, word study, and additional instructional materials on it. If you teach reading and are interested in differentiated instruction for your students, this is a great addition to your collection of teaching manuals!

I'm a first year teacher and love this book!!! I am teaching first grade and only wish that I had found it earlier in the school year. It's the next best thing to having an experienced teacher in the room with you. I'd recommend it to anyone! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
