I am married, have two children and five grandchildren. I graduated from Purdue University in Jan. 1961 with a BS degree in chemistry and from Indiana University in Jan. 1975 with an MS degree in chemistry. I retired as a civil service chemist in Sept. 1999. I've been writing science fiction (SF) since 1975 and more recently romance of the sweet variety. I have five ebooks out at The Wild Rose Press and one ebook out at Red Rose Publishing. I've been submitting my SF short stories and romance short stories. I have written five novels but have been unable to gain representation of any of them. My most recent romance novel takes the characters Leroy and Jody from my ebook Lab Partners and cast them into modern times.

Small is Beautiful is such a delightful short story. You always hear that opposites attract. Well, Judy and Brad are complete opposites. She is quiet and reserved while Brad is outgoing. She is very intelligent and he is struggling a bit and needs a tutor. Brad is six foot five and Judy is five foot one. I had to smile inwardly because this story reminds me of my nephew who is over one foot taller than than his wife…the top of her head actually comes to his shoulder. Was this story believable? Absolutely. This sweet story was fun to read.

A too short slighlty corny kind of sweet almost unbelievable story.

College girl, Judy Compton's heart melts at the sight of Brad Whitherspoon. But the towering basketball player would never notice a small, 5-feet-tall blonde. Or would he? Brad does take notice. When Judy tutors him in the dreaded college calculus, the spark ignites. You can feel the chemistry between Judy and Brad. Larry Hammersley's gift for visual description will not disappoint. Like his previous stories, it shines through. This author has a way with words. If you enjoy tender romance with a strong hint of passion, "Small Is Beautiful" is made to order. Take it to the garage while your mechanic tunes your car, or to the doctor's office while waiting for your name to be called. As a short read, you can start it, finish it, come away with that "Ahh-hh" feeling that only sweet romance can provide. All the characters in "Small Is Beautiful" are so real they jump off the page. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more stories by this talented author.
