Looking after a small flock of sheep can become a most enthralling hobby but newcomers can find it difficult to relate to books written for commercial farmers. This book seeks to encourage, advise and even entertain the new small-scale sheep keeper by setting out the principles of good husbandry based on sound, practical experience.

Meet the Author

Jeremy Hunt is an agricultural writer and journalist specializing in livestock production and pedigree breeding. A lifetime's interest in all aspects of stock keeping and good husbandry has concentrated more recently on running a small flock of pedigree sheep. He draws on his extensive practical experience gained from many years of keeping a host of different breeds of stock to produce this guide for the first-time sheep keeper. Jeremy Hunt lives with his wife and two sons in Ribble Valley in Lancashire and writes each week in Farmers Weekly. He is a regular columnist and feature writer for Country Life and contributes to other country and livestock publications.
