Finally some help with 'friend' problems that provides real problem-solving ideas and examples from real girls! Very nice little quizzes, questions and stories. Also very helpful for discussion with siblings. I recommend to ages 9-12 and think EVERY girl should read it to become a better friend or figure out why she is having problems with them.

I want her to re-read parts of it again because the advise is useful. Thanks to the author for writing it.
While your son or daughter reads, I would also recommend reading the book in my recommended list below. It will help you to stay calm during the middle school years & will keep you focused on what is important (Power of Inner Guidance by Garcy).

I am a School Counselor and I use this book for small group counseling of 3-5th grade girls. I get a lot of visits to my office about friendship troubles and the girls really enjoy reading and discussing the content of the book. They are learning new skills which will benefit them for a lifetime. I would even use this for middle schoolers as well. I wished someone had given me this book when I was their age.

My ten year old enjoyed it somewhat except that she had to read it out loud to me for practice! She knew most of it and chose some parts to explain what happened to her in real life. Any book that deals with real life, everyday happenings in a kid's world is good with me!

So to those people that said that this book is a waste of money, they are completely wrong. This book gives not just advice on friends, it gives advice on life and people. To the people that said, "It said to punch my friends in the nose!" or "If a friends likes the same guy you do you should poison in her food!" they are so wrong. I've read this book over a hundred times and practically memorized it and it does not say anything close to those things. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT PEOPLE!!! Anyway, this book was really helpful. I recommend getting it for ages 10 and up, because that is when real friendship troubles begin. It's a great book, you should get it, you will learn a lot just like I did!

It addresses issues that little girls do not want to talk about with adults. Once they have read this book they find it easier to talk with their parents.
In fact all of this series has been wonderful. I am glad I found it.
Thank you!

I have enjoyed every single American Girl book I read. They are all so helpful in ddealing with problems. In this book, I really enjoyed how they had friendship files stories about other girls who went through different friendship criseses. It makes you feel like you're not alone in the world and there are lots of girls who are going through problems with friends too. Parents: PLEASE give this book to your daughter if she is going through jealosy, popularity, bullying, on-again-off-again-friends, and other problems. Everythings is explained gently but clearly.

My daughter found this book very enlightening and helpful. She was able to relate to the situations presented and also able to look at the situation objectively. The book gave her options on how to handle different situations that might come up at school with her classmates. We will definitely reread this book during the summer.

Believe it or not i've read many American Girl Library books but none exactly were as good as this one. I've actually had a couple of friendship problems at school but i didn't have this book until i got out of school for summer vacation. I will definately turn to this book next year if i really need to. THANKS AMERICAN GIRL!

My daughter had been experiencing some difficulties towards the end of the school year with some bullying girls. This book was right on target and gave us some good practical ideas we can try this summer! It really made my daughter realize she was not alone.

I was staisfied with this book. It's not like it's one of my favorites but, it is very easy to follow and has simple answers to your friendship troubles. Sometimes when I'm in a fight with one of my friend I'll look through the book to find a way to approach my friend and fix the problem.

Yes, it's a good book. It's worth your money. It's not like you HAVE to have it, but I would highly recommend it. It's simple and gets straight to the point. It's not a 500-page novel on how to be someone's friend. It has helpful hints and tips how to solve quarrels between friends. I recommend it for all ages.
