I read part of this book at the store waiting for my parents and its great! I have afew of the american girl books already, and I've read them soo many times. Today Im going back to buy it and I know it will help me even more than it already has!
I think anyone in fifth grade and up should get this book. It will help them in middle so much. I know most kids are scared that they will get lost and stuff and this book helps them.
these are the two other books I would recommend for middle school but I think all american girl books are great

A Smart Girl's Guide to Starting Middle School written by Julie Williams is a book in the Smart Girl's Guide series by the AmericanGirl company, also known as AG. A Smart Girl's Guide To Middle School gives advice to girls who are going to start middle school soon. This book gives advice on many things, starting with timing and perspective. This section tells you how to be on time for school, how to prepare, and how to stride into middle school with confidence. Another section tells you what kind of things are going to be inside the middle school. For example: lockers, classrooms, changing rooms, stories, etc. One of the most important section, is the section that deals with schoolwork. It talks about how much homework there will be and how to do and finish homework in peace. It also talks about the subjects and electives that would probably be available in school, and gives descriptions and tips for each one. Other topics are dealing with grades, how to study for tests, and how to avoid and resist cheating. Probably one of the most important sections for girls to deal with is the "Friends" section. This section gives advice on how to still be friends with girls who used to go to your elementary school, but don't go to your middle school. It also gives tips on how to make new friends at your middle school and what to do when you and one of your friends is growing apart. This section also deals with an especially important topic: bullying. Bullying is very hurtful and this book shows you how to deal with bullies and protect yourself and others from them. Finally, this section talks about the topic of the school dance and tips for it. The last section in the book is about afterschool activities and clubs. This section gives tips on how to prepare for tryouts and gives quizzes to see what kind of clubs are best for you. It also gives tips on how to deal with not getting in the club the first time, how to deal with stress, and how to quit, if you want to quit a club or team. In general, I think this book is amazing and very detailed about middle-school life. This book is also completed with beautifully illustrated pictures done by Angela Martini. I would definitely recommend this book to any girl who is about to start middle school, or just needs more advice about it. This book will tell any girl just what to expect for middle school and the ups and downs of it and how to deal with both the right way. It is a book filled with perhaps the best advice for middle school!!!!!!!!

So my mom got me this book the summer before my first year as a 6th grader and my first summer before my first year of middel school! Everyone gets nervous about middle school sometime or another. If its homework, teachers, and for alot of kids, starting middle school. Well I read this book and after I finished it I was like OMG! This book is really helpful for people starting middle school. So I put those tips to the test and they helped so much. This book is really great for beginning middle schoolers. Now i'm in 6th grade and i'm doing great thanks to this book. It really helped and just think soon you will be giving advice to girls that are starting middle school just like you were.

Starting middle school, as many know, is a HUGE leap. When your in Elementary school, your treated like a baby often. But, this book lets you know what to expect (like being treated more like an adult), and how to deal with problems. I think every girl who is concerened about this, should buy this book. It helped me loads.

This book is really helful for girls that are about to start middle school. I liked it because it gives you good tips and great insite I recomend this book because it is reallly for a girl. Not really boys but if you are a boy and you really want tips this would be okay!

This book really lets me know what i will be getting myself into in middle school. It is a great book for girl's about to go to middle school. All girl's should buy this book.

I have every a.g. book. I am obsessed. I love the tips and other memos about going to the big school. I am in fifth grade now, and next year its a big deal. I am scared and nervous. This book is an amazing book for tips, ideas and quotes from real girls. I cant wait to go to the middle school, because this book made me confident. Thanks a.g!

I just started 6th grade, and I don't think this book was worth the $8. I finished it in half an hour, and the info was basic knowledge that I already knew from the start. If you have common sense about middle school, do NOT purchase. You're better off going on the internet. Sry.

this is one the best books that i have read it tells you all about the challenges of middle school nd even more i love it soooo much every single girl that is starting middle school should read it. VERY helpful i recommend it !!!!

This book has definently earned a 'five star rating.' It tells you everything from how to stay organized to how to deal with teachers and friends. I loved how American Girl really explained everything thoroughly. This book is great for anyone starting middle school. This book has definently been helpful because I'm about to start middle school. I recommend this to anyone about to take their first steps into a bigger school.
