Overview

Offering complete, up-to-date knowledge on all of the wines across the world—from inexpensive everyday wines to the most exclusive vintages from France, Italy, Germany, South Africa, the United States, and other countries—this guide is a one-stop reference for any aspiring wine enthusiast. In addition to a description of the many different types of wine that are available, the book offers useful information on how to enjoy the beverage properly, from cutting the foil from the top of the bottle and uncorking to using the right glass and pouring with elegance. Advice is also included on how to find a reputable wine merchant, buy wine online, and stock a home cellar. Appendices offer lists of suggested books for advanced reading, websites and blogs for wine appreciation and reviews, and a list of more than 300 wine recommendations at bargain prices. Even the most extensive and lavish multipage wine list at a store or restaurant will fail to intimidate readers after they have absorbed the information in this guide.
