Children's Literature
This self-help book for kids teaches the reader how to evaluate his/her priorities in order to do the things that they enjoy. Sanjay has always loved music. When he was very small, he would play on his toy piano. Now he likes to create his own songs and record them on CDs. His friends understand his love of music, but they also want him to be a part of their activities. Sanjay finds it difficult to balance the two demands for his time. This book poses these types of situations to kids and asks them to work out a solution. Although simple to read, this book will prove most beneficial when read aloud and discussed with children. This can be done at home, or in a classroom setting. Activities are included for making each "asset" a part of the reader's life. The asset discussed is the constructive use of time. Supplemental pages include an index and resources for both kids and adults. This is book four in the "Adding Assets" series. 2005, Free Spirit Publishers, Ages 8 to 12.—Joyce Rice
